View Full Version : My Gardens
I have never claimed to be a weed-free gardener. I am what I have labeled a "functional gardener", meaning that what I do is functional but I definitely enjoy it. Here are some pics.
This is a picture of my first garden. At the end, where it looks like grass, is my daughters garden, which I refuse to touch! LOL! But up at the front, I have mostly okra, garlic, flowers and some lettuce.
I took a close up of my little okra plants coming up.
First pic is part of my second garden....onions, spinach, lettuce, potatoes, peas some herbs.
Second pic is part of my husband's fledgling orchard.
Third pic is part of the berry patch in bloom.
This is a picture of the large garden lengthwise. It has a strawberry bed, space for vine vegetables, corn, tomatoes and asparagus. I'm sure I have bitten off more than I can chew, but I love it! :)
Second photo is some peonies in my backyard.

LOL! Yeah, that's quite a difference. My corn is about 3-4 inches high!

Awesome pics ILG! Your garden is doing awesome for a "functional" gardener! Did you plant any tomatoes?
My okra is about as big as yours. I didn't plant any potatoes, although now I am wishing I did.
I'll have to take some pictures of my efforts gardening here in the NW as well...

Perfect gardens look nice, but we're after the food, after all. ;)

Its nice to reap the rewards of your labors...it is very satisfying to eat what you grow. Home grown tomatoes are so good, store bought just don't have the sweet wonderful flavor! Your garden is wonderful!

Thanks! Yes, I agree about the tomatoes. Store bought and garden grown are two different things, for sure!
