View Full Version : Pastor Phil Goldsberry
Pastor Phil Goldsberry is in the hospital after falling seriously ill while on vacation in New Jersey. He has blood clots in both lungs and a pulmonary embolism.
Phil is a great guy who loves God and people. He has pastored for many years. The last few years he has pastored Christ Life Church in Tempe AZ. For several years before that he was an Associate Pastor at Christ Church Nashville and then before that Sr. pastor of a church in Long Island NY.
Please pray for this good man.

He is a great man! He and I used to talk frequently. I saw something about this on FB today. Any updates on him?

He is not out of the woods yet. He was able to get up and move around a little yesterday - he was being kept completely immobile before that.
They are pumping him full of blood thinner, trying to dissolve the clots. They have no idea right now when he will be released or get to go home. It's about a five hour flight from NJ back to AZ, so I doubt if the doctors will let him fly anytime soon.
Also, they were supposed to go with us the first of Sept. to Korea and the Philippines. I'm thinking that's probably NOT going to happen. I doubt if he will be going on any thirty hour flights!
Please continue to pray for him and Pam. They are some of our closest friends - the doctors say he is "lucky" to be alive. We know he is blessed.

Update from Pastor Phil on FB:
"It is with deepest appreciation that I write this, this morning. As the reality of what I just went through (Bi-Lateral Pulmonary Embolism and a large mass is lower left lung that has been preliminarily diagnosed as Pneumonia) my life is owed to God's grace and the prayers of friends, family, my awesome church - Christ Life Church, my family and my wonderful wife.
I believe I am out of the woods - but medical staff has asked me to reconsider my time and condition and create a game plan to move forward.
In the words of Dr. Jessica Blanco, from our church-who is taking direct lead medically when I get home, 'You do realize that this is a miracle. And I do not use the word 'miracle' lightly.'"
"We are attempting to fly home on Friday under medical orders. I want to get home and get the regimen started to total healing."

Praying.
Phil is my nephew. We had a family reunion over the weekend, and we prayed for Phil and my son, that has lung cancer.
Phil is home now.
