I know all of you have heard and read sermons that we are supposed to be “Praising God, for our problems.”

I never could do it, because,...
It seems to me like that it is a part of Positive Confession/Positive Thinking, Doctrine, that has taken over the world.
Also it seems like it is part of the False Doctrine of the Sovereignty of God.

Positive Confession/Positive Thinking.

In positive thinking, people are hypnotizing their mind to think opposite of what they really think. And lying to themselves.
In positive confession, they are lying thru their teeth. And lying to those around them and to God. Although many don't realize it.

If I am so sick and weak that I can not get up out of bed, and I tell you and God, that I am healed, trying to manipulate God to heal me, I am lying, dishonest and a manipulater.

The False Doctrine of the Sovereignty of God
This is one of the worst doctrines, teaching that God is in control of everything. The good as well as the wicked murders, lies, thievery, rape, drug addiction, alcoholism, etc.,

We know that every good gift comes from God, but where does all the evil come from?

Every person, since Adam is born in sin, and spiritually they are a child of the Devil. And they can not avoid sinning. That is why Jesus told a group of people, . . .

So is Jesus the father of lies, as the Sovereign God, or is the Devil? And I feel almost blasphemous in even asking that question. But if God is in control of everything then He also would control the lies, and murders, as well as every evil thing.

However, the Devil is not totally to blame. Because God gave man FREE WILL. Which is why the Doctrine of Sovereignty is evil, and a lie. It takes away the responsibility of man's free will. And promotes passivity as well as sin. If you tell a lie, people used to say, “the Devil made me do it.” and now if DOS was true, can they say, “God made me do it?” How foolish.
Why even pray, if God is controlling everything?

Don't get me wrong, God is Sovereign. Which means according to the dictionary,---Supreme, having supreme rank or power, self-governing, and God is all of these. However, God did not make a world of Robots, without a thinking or decision making brains.

Since God is Truth, He is Love, He can not lie, if He made a Universe of Robots, He would have made them, that they could not sin and all would worship Him. Even the angels have free will and can sin, and some did.

God does not force anyone to worship or serve Him. It is all free will. But He did make a way for us, and told us what that way was, what the requirements are..

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

God is not willing that any should perish, and according to man's doctrine of Sovereignty, none will, but we see by the Word that many will be lost, because THEY WILL NOT REPENT. Repentance is left up to man, God does not make man repent.

Jeremiah 29:12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

And what if you don't search? You will not find God and will not be saved.

I've spent more time than I intended on these two false doctrines that has seeped into even psychology. Now back to the subject of PRAISE.

After I read the book “From Prison to Praise,” I thought, maybe I needed to learn something. Maybe I was wrong, so I bought his second book, “Power in Praise.” I hadn't read far when it hit me. Here is why he has the wrong interpretation,...

He says, if you are sick, praise God for it. If your husband is an alcoholic, praise God for it. If your child goes to jail, praise God, and God will work a miracle on your behalf.

First, You can not truthfully praise God for letting these things happen, If God did it. Because of man's free will, God didn't cause them. So are you going to praise God out one side of your mouth and ask Him to heal, or stop the alcoholism or get your child out of jail, out of the other side of your mouth?

“A double-minded man, is unstable in all of his ways.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice evermore.
:17 Pray without ceasing.
:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Now what does all of that Mean?

Rejoice ever more. No matter what happens, you can rejoice that (if you are born again) your name is written in heaven, Now it can be blotted out, but as long as you are living in all the light that you know, and are trying to find more truth, your name is there.

Pray without ceasing. (another subject) If you pray in unknown tongues, you can more likely pray without ceasing.

In every thing give thanks. Ah, that is where the mistake o interpretation is made.

God does not want us to thank HIM when evil hits us. He didn't cause it, in most cases, (although sometimes people need a 2 x 4 over the head to wake them up. In that cases thank Him after you wake up to the truth.)

In the midst of the trouble, we can still praise God. Not for the trouble, but for all of the good things in your life,
Like the apostles, singing in jail. I don't believe they praised God because they were in jail. However, they may have praised Him because He gave them the fortitude to endure the suffering.

Another reason that I can think of as to why God wants us to praise Him in the midst of our troubles is, we can't praise and grumble at the same time. And I do believe that God thoroughly hates grumbling. “Out of the same fountain doesn't come sweet water and bitter.”

So are we to praise God for the cancer, car wreck, debt, flood, fire, tornado, NO WAY.
However, we are supposed to praise Him in the midst of anything that happens, not for it happening, but because, “ we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”

Even if it doesn't look like any good is going to come from it, God knows best.
