My eyes filled with tears last night. A little pastor lady had asked me to come and give a Bible study to her little group of people. I love to tell Bible stories and things like that with power point. (I still remember the thousands of times I used flannel graph telling stories!)
I talked about obedience last night and told the story about King Saul and the witch of Endor. They sat and listened and seemed to love my pictures and we all mostly read the scriptures together.

It was a poor village where many people live far below the poverty line. Yet I heard the pastor say let’s receive an offering for the missionary. OH no I thought…how could I take their pennies? I whispered to the pastor I was fine and my car had gasoline but she insisted on me taking it and went and opened my purse and put the money in my side zipper. All of a sudden she said I have brought food for the missionary and her group. There were 7 that had come with me and she announced we must pray for God multiply. I knew she had spent far beyond her means to bless us…She waited for some to leave as we sat around talking however there were still 30 or so of us. She and another little sister put a little plastic table up and she uncovered 4 pork chops and opened a little bag of bread. She also put on the table a tiny bowl of Inhame. She put a small bottle of coke and a little bit of coffee on the table. I reached over and began to cut the tiny port chops into bite size pieces so each one could have a bite. Everyone smiled when she said, the missionary knows how to stretch things but even I wondered how we could all eat…but God multiplied and each one smiled and took a bite. No one seemed to notice that there was so little for so many they were just glad I had come to visit them and they had given their all.

I was so humbled to think about their sacrifice of love. Oh how I saw Jesus in them!

Today as you go about your business remember just how blessed you really are!

Thank you for the reminder of just how blessed we really are, Sis. Alvear! I just finished a fine dinner of steak, potato and fresh veggies from my garden. Indeed, I am so blessed. I pray that my heart is as thankful for my nice plate of food, as those precious souls that were thankful for the small bite of food that they had.
