Among the other findings is that welfare in 13 states pays more than $15 an hour, compared with the federal hourly minimum wage of $7.25. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/08/21/study-in-most-states-welfare-pays-more-than-minimum-wage-job/

This wouldn't even be a story -if there was no such thing as "minimum wage", which is a crock in and of itself.

You see the story will NEVER be "Look how much welfare recipients are getting!". No, it will be "We need to RAISE the minimum wage by "this" much!!".
To that I say, why not just raise it to $100 and be done with it.

Exactly right. They have no actual need to go out
and look for work when they make better on welfare.
I also think every person that gets welfare or and
anyother sort of govt assistance should be made to take drug
tests just like hard working folks do, to have a job in
some places. The refinery that my husband works, men and
women are made to have those drug tests before hire and
then they are randomly tested again off and on with regularity,
while they are on the job.

I have heard of people quitting jobs because they made more on government benefits than working for $12.00 an hour.

Welfare needs to be done away with. It is an infringement of out rightsand unconstitutional.
See my latest thread "Life is Strange". I just about posted it here. It is related to this subject. I would like your comments.
