If my Jesus was willing to DIE for sinners... certainly I could bake a cake for them.
If my Jesus was willing to DIE for sinners... certainly I could bake a cake for them.
hmm... if I had a friend who was gay and sick, I would be happy to cook a meal for them to help them.
If however, my friend wanted me to be party to a religious ceremony commemorating a religious covanant that was in my view well outside the biblical perscription, I would likely decline.
I would try to do so in a kind way, but there are simply things that I will not do.
I will not go to a bar with my friends (gay or straight). There are numerous places I will not go and things that I will not do, that have nothing to do with sexuality because of my religious belief. I am not going to carve out an exception for homosexuality.

Your Jesus also looked folk dead in the eyeball and said "go and sin no more"
NEVER did Jesus spend time with sinners and leave them as he found them.
There are examples where Jesus spent time with sinners, offered them perscription to cure thier spiritual illness and they refused, but he never simply left them in their sin without confronting it.

Exactly. This is what Aquila and others are willfully ignoring. They try to be snide and mock the situation as just baking a cake, when it's much more than that. It's being involved in a religious ceremony and celebrating a union.
I'd have no issues if it was, in fact, just baking a cake or selling a cupcake. But it's not.

To put it another way, If I owned any business and some huge anti-gun organization wanted to hire me for whatever, I would certainly take their money and give exceptional customer service. But I would NOT speak at their ceremony proclaiming my undying support for their anti-2nd Amendment cause, and would decline their business if doing so was required.

Ya know what Ferd, I would bet if you had a gay friend that was going to participate in a union like this I am sure that they would know you well enough to not invite you. I am not your friend in that off the board we hang out, but I think I know you well enough to know where you stand on every issue. You don't vacillate and you shouldn't.

Good post.
Did "Jesus" ever say that "He" was a friend of publicans and sinners? :)
