Yes, I agree. There's also those who are demonically influenced which is close to demonic possession. What many Christians experience today is demonic oppression which is provided by those who are demonically influenced or possessed.

An example would be those who have abortions. Those individuals aren't demonically possessed but are demonically influenced themselves, and by others who are demonically influenced (maybe possessed), and suffer demonic oppression as a result.

The Gadarene was demon possessed. When they are possessed the demon controls them. If they possess a spirit, they are still in control, for now.
