About a million more square miles of ocean are covered in ice in 2013 than in 2012, a whopping 60 percent increase -- and a dramatic deviation from predictions of an "ice-free Arctic in 2013," the Daily Mail noted (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2415191/Global-cooling-Arctic-ice-caps-grows-60-global-warming-predictions.html)http://global.fncstatic.com/static/v/all/img/external-link.png.
Arctic sea ice averaged 2.35 million square miles in August 2013, as compared to the low point of 1.32 million square miles recorded on Sept. 16, 2012, according to the National Snow and Ice Data Center. A chart published Sept. 8 by NSIDC shows the dramatic rise this year, putting total ice cover within two standard deviations of the 30-year average.
Noting the year over year surge, one scientist even argued that "global cooling" was here

Maybe...

Al will start another ice age scare all because of man made pollution.
Most sheeple will believe it because Al will make a film about it.
He will line up a few scientists willing to prostitute themselves for research money and presto global climate change because of people...

Thank you!

EEEEEEEKKKKK! ICE AGE is coming! :heeheehee

Its all man's fault!
Sell your cars.
Stop heating your homes - that causes pollution!
Eat more beef because cows flatuate causing global warming... uhhhh I mean climate change!

"Nevertheless, having come thus far, who could resist a peek into the future?"

There is really no significance to the sentence above. It was just the ONLY sentence in the whole article I understood. :blah

Isn't "Global Warming" about the conditions that will bring on global cooling? I've been told that "Global Warming" is a misnomer.

The more massive the fluctuation... doesn't that also indicate a problem?

I believe that the sins of greed will bring this upon us. Some sins bring their own consequences. And... it may very well be part of God's plan in the endtimes.

There was one theory that suggested the last I e age was caused by warming that melted a large portion of the Greenland Ice cap. The idea is that this melt of a large volume of fresh water would stop the Atlantic conveyor thus causing cooling which would change the albedo so dramatically as to reflect too much sunlight back into space causing out of control cooling.

This is a raw theory with very little supporting evidence. It is not part on any major literature. Not even the IPCC puts any stock in that idea.

It would be a mischaractorization to suggest this fluctuation is major. It is within recent averages. There have been Absolutly NO major extremes in weather patterns.

Warmest statements about fires, floods, droughts, hurricanes, tornadoes are all lies

:thumbsup............. temp since recorded history has changed about a half degree, its called weather cycles like a refridgerator with automatic defrost/if man could control the weather we would,we have absoulutely zero effect on it in the long term picture.

MarcBee, I have a bad habit of reading the actual scientific papers and keeping up with what the major scientists are saying.

I read NOAA, and I read the warmists blogs and I read the skeptics. As well as the luke warmers.

lets be really clear about this in 2007 there was shear panic and the Warmists were freaking out yelling and screaming about no ice in 2013. They were wrong and and now they are coming up with new excuses.

I agree that trends do not go in a straight line. I also agree that we are still in a clear trend to less ice in the Arctic at this point. however, the truth of the matter is, this current snit is not about one article in the daily mail. it is about holding what are supposed to be experts accountable. EVERYONE was saying that 2013 was a breaking point year. They were brutally wrong.
