It's very difficult for me to say this, nevertheless, I must. I have a gun buying addiction. I can't seem to stop buying guns. I keep telling myself, "this is the last gun I'm buying," and I end up lying to myself!

A mask I wear to hide all this misery that lives inside. Misery loves company they say, well I have found mine today. Alone in the dark I wait until that day or til my fate. As I slowly fall into sleep, I feel I must accept defeat, for there is no escape from the hurt, as I live with tear stains on my shirt.

You need deliverance. And the first thing to do is get rid of those guns! I will gladly relieve you of those horrid things, and I won't charge you anything for it, either!

Hey, just as long as it's not a donut addiction. I've seen what those can do to people

I have been where you are. Im sure many don't understand this. Guns in themselves is not at all a sin. However I went through some years where guns became a big thing to me.

I remember my cousin who introduced me to guns said "They have a way of taking you over".

I got to where I was talking to people about guns as much as I was Jesus. I think it hurt my witness where I worked.

One time while in the bathroom I overheard a guy I had been witnessing to talking about me.

He said "Gibson goes to a anti abortion gunslinging Church". Another time a rumor was going through the shop that I was taking "sniper training".

I had been sensing for some time I was to far into guns. After some time my wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I was really shocked. Now don't get me wrong. Im not saying it was because of this.

However for whatever reason it was I told Jesus "If you will deliver her and let her live I will never buy another assault rifle".

Well that was in 2006 and she is still with me thank God. I have never bought another assault rifle and my "addiction" to them is gone.

Now I am posting this not to condemn gun ownership (I still own several firearms) but to encourage people who may be letting them have to much place in their lives.

Giving ANYTHING more of our attention than Christ is not good. Peace and love, Mike

LOL! :thumbsup

It has been raining or too hot or too many mosquitoes to go to the gun range. I wish it would hurry up and cool down around here. Pouring down today again and will be tomorrow - more mosquitoes. UGH! I want to shoot my gun!

I do have an addiction - politics. And I have to confess that when I was online one day, God spoke to me - "This isn't what I called you to do." I am trying to get away from it, but it's very hard. It's like I totally relax once I am plugged in. I did let go of my FB account, which was all politics. That was a start. I am working on my Twitter feed. Don't post as much as I used to. But this week, I've posted more here than usual. Ugh! I think I need deliverance. :heeheehee

It's a good thing AR-15s, AK-47s, FALs, M-14s and such - as sold here in the US, in their semi-auto versions - aren't "assault rifles"!

You can stay true to your vow and still buy them!

FALs and M-14s aren't assault rifles anyway, they're main battle rifles.

AR-15s are just wifels.

I haven't bought a gun for quite a while, although I DID get a new Bravo Concealment brand holster for outside the waistband carry for my Glock 19.

It isn't JUST the gun your buying when you get a new one. It is also the above holster(s) as well as extra mags and of course ammo if it is a new caliber as well as plenty of practice to get familiar with it. All that extra stuff really really really adds up!

I hope your wife is doing well. I do tend to obsess over firearms. That needs to stop. I'm going to destroy my BFSC card that permits me to buy firearms. Perhaps that will help.

Yes, it can become very expensive. In regard to Glock, I own a Glock 19, 21SF, 23, and 33.

This is the pistol I just purchased today. It's a Heckler & Koch (yes, German), Model P2000SK .40 Caliber!

Well you are technically correct. I should have expressed the idea of "semi automatic" rifles.

Heard a preacher relate once - he was going to buy a third rifle, already had two Mini-14s, and his wife reminded him "Jesus said 'two' is enough, honey..."

I do have to admit that I never understood my wife's shoe obsession until I started acquiring firearms.

And I still don't completely understand it -I mean they're just shoes! A gun is, well, a gun!
