Yesterday while at the Catalyst conference in Atlanta got word that a wonderful family in our church that has already faced a lot of trial and tribulation found out their young special needs son has leukemia.

These folks work in our hospitality ministry and are examples of walking by faith through heartbreak. The boy that has leukemia is a special needs child from the wife's first marriage.

Her second husband and her became Christians and the husband has loved this special needs child as if he were his own biological child. They have tried twice to have a child of their own to add to their family and both times the wife miscarried. The last time, not too long ago, she carried the baby to around 7 months and it was stillborn. A great heartache for this fine couple and now their only child has been diagnosed with leukemia on top of his other special needs. I can only imagine the anguish this mom and dad are going through on top of the heartbreak they have already had trying to have children.

This boy always has a huge smile on his face at church and warms my heart when I see him.

I believe that today they are supposed to find out the details of exactly what type of leukemia he has. Please join me in praying that it is a mild form and treatable with a high percentage of success. Also help me pray for God to heal this boy completely . His name is Kobe.
