With so many companies/brands in clear support of gay marriage, do you make an effort to avoid buying their products or services? I realized today honey maid by nabisco supports gay marriage and I kind of feel like saying goodbye to those teddy Grahams. Lol. What do you do when a company you love supports a sin you don't? Everyone threw a fit when chick fil a came out as a supporter of one man one woman marriage, and when JC penny featured an ad with same sex couples their sales dropped. Thoughts?
(I know it's impossible to know for sure what a certain company supports)

I usually just by the best price/quality available unless the company is overtly active in causes or social positions which I oppose.

That's a tough one. It is virtually impossible to know what companies own, and sponsor activities that may go against your personal convictions and beliefs. If you are aware of something that a company is doing, certainly it has been shown in the past that boycotts of certain products do send a message to the company, but whether things actually change beyond that, has not been proven.
Here is an article regarding the subject... http://www.theloop.ca/news/all/you-ask/article/-/a/2745210/Do-boycotts-actually-work-
