Has anyone here ever visited the catacombs?
I have always wanted to go there and several other places in Rome...As most know I love history....

Never been. My wife and I are saving up to go to the Holy Land within the next 2 to 3 years. I think it would be neat to stop by the catacombs while we are in the neighborhood.

I was there, in the catacombs the baptismal places are big enough for a person to be immersed.
Why would the early Christians hiding from persecution would bother to dig into rock for a baptismal hole if only a little water over the head was sufficient for baptism. It is clear that the early Christians baptized by immersion.
I was in the Vatican, there are pictures and images of devils everywhere.
