Would this be Blaspheming the Holy Word of God.
I see so many on this forum who are making light of scripture, and joke about it and some don't even believe it is the word of God. Will God Forgive them?
I have tried to be part of this forum, but I have never felt a part of them and I guess this is the reason.
Sorry If I have offended you who are guilty of this, but I don't feel it is the right thing to do.

It's been an ongoing problem.
I left because of it.
Came back to find the same stuff still going on.
And leaving again. :-)
Might check back in here in a months time.

I wish you would point this out in the moment, on the thread, with the poster, directly.
You are able to do that.
That might be more effective than what you're doing right now-- and I hope you don't think I'm trying to offend you.
I don't think I've read anything of AFF that would be considered blasphemy-- that is a VERY STRONG word and I am sure you are aware of that.
Please, find one of these blasphemous posts and call the actual poster out!
Let's see what you're talking about.
Seriously.
I am sure the Admin will fix that poster real quick!

Of course it isn't right but the Word of God warned us in the last days there would be mockers of His word. When I read the reprobates that post on here it only solidifies my faith in the Word seeing right in front of my eyes the prophecy of the end times in black and white.
And as time goes on we will see more and more of this as the world goes further and further away from God.
I guess these bitter people think that somehow because it's the internet and their real names aren't attached to their wicked posts that God isn't able to know who they are. How sad. Although God did say He would send them strong delusion so that's what we are literally reading on this forum with some of the souls that post here.

Well, if you want to know my real name, I will tell you. My Profile picture is of my wife and I, who have been married for 34 years.
Challenging Ancient writings is not wrong, or as you say, wicked. In fact, it's just the opposite. IMO, God expects us to seek the truth, not some idea written by people we know nothing about during a time we know not of.
Do you realize that the New Testament wasn't written as you might suppose? For example, the 4 Gospels were not even written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John, and possibly after they were already dead (60-100 years A.D.).
Do you also understand that the New Testament is written in the common language of Rome, known as Greek? Have you ever studied the religious History of Rome and the idolatry they embrace in their Culture?
Most don't know this, either; the Book of Revelation was not added to the original Canon until the last decade of the 4th Century.
Christianity, as we know it, was delivered throughout Europe, and the then known World, via the Roman Catholic Church and during Romes push to dominate the Earth. Why do you think people fled England to the Americas (one reason)? The State Religion was, Catholic, and their Bible was the King James. They rebelled against Religion to pursue a different God than they were forced to accept.
Speaking of delusion, Jesus pointed out that the Religious were the blind hypocrites we were to look out for, not the doubting Thomas who wanted to know the facts.

I have no problem with people challenging the word of God, go ahead, the word of God has withstood the challenge of much bigger men than you.
Your second statement is obviously false, for thanks to archeology we do know something about those times, unless you deny the findings of archeology.
Do you realize that the New Testament wasn't written as you might suppose? For example, the 4 Gospels were not even written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John, and possibly after they were already dead (60-100 years A.D.).
OK then give us the name of those who wrote them. I can even say that this post was not written by you. saying something does not make it so, do tell me who wrote the gospels
Do you also understand that the New Testament is written in the common language of Rome, known as Greek? Have you ever studied the religious History of Rome and the idolatry they embrace in their Culture?
No all of us Christians are ignorant toothless fellas that just came of the farm all the years we have spent in the library we have been standing up and saying "Ha shuck, I wish I could read."
Most don't know this, either; the Book of Revelation was not added to the original Canon until the last decade of the 4th Century.
Wow what a revelation about Revelation, this is earth shattering news!
It might end up destroying Christianity, so pretty please do not repeat it.
Christianity, as we know it, was delivered throughout Europe, and the then known World, via the Roman Catholic Church and during Romes push to dominate the Earth. Why do you think people fled England to the Americas (one reason)? The State Religion was, Catholic, and their Bible was the King James. The State religion was Catholic? Really then why would a bunch of catholic traitors tried to blow up parliament?
Speaking of delusion, Jesus pointed out that the Religious were the blind hypocrites we were to look out for, not the doubting Thomas who wanted to know the facts.

I thought the only unforgivable sin was blasphemy against the Holy Spirit?
I just got here today, so I know this isn't towards me. But I would totally be guilty in your eyes, as I don't think that the Bible is the WORD OF GOD. And where I might share my honest opinion that it's stories written by men ABOUT God, to you my opinion might be blasphemy.
However, back to my original point. By your own text, yes God will forgive them, because there is only one thing ever claimed to be unforgivable.
Well, if you want to know my real name, I will tell you. My Profile picture is of my wife and I, who have been married for 34 years.

I saw that on the history channel also my friend....I just thought to myself how can anyone on Gods green earth know when these books were written. They are not even dated...This is mere speculation by so called scholars that have set out to say the Bible is not the word of God. They are completely making stuff up with no evidence of half of their statements. But they are 'respected" because they are "PHDs"(the history channel is not on the side of the Bible at all folks, neither are these so called scholars)
Do you also understand that the New Testament is written in the common language of Rome, known as Greek? Have you ever studied the religious History of Rome and the idolatry they embrace in their Culture?
The New Testament was written by the Apostles, it was not tainted in any way, shape or form by Greek culture. The more you understand it, the more you realize it...
Most don't know this, either; the Book of Revelation was not added to the original Canon until the last decade of the 4th Century.
That has nothing to do with it not being the word of God, The newly formed catholic church merely collected these manuscripts to preserve them.
Christianity, as we know it, was delivered throughout Europe, and the then known World, via the Roman Catholic Church and during Romes push to dominate the Earth. Why do you think people fled England to the Americas (one reason)? The State Religion was, Catholic, and their Bible was the King James. My friend you are totally wrong, the King James Bible was a product of the REFORMATION. King James was a protestant and ordered it put together in the common English language for the first official English Bible. The Catholic kings and queens prior to James forbid the Bible to be printed in English.
Speaking of delusion, Jesus pointed out that the Religious were the blind hypocrites we were to look out for, not the doubting Thomas who wanted to know the facts.
You need to check your history and facts before you just throw out your ideas on this thread...you will get called on what you say here.....You can download a video called "the fobidden book" it is a must for every Christian or anyone to see. It will straighten out anyones history problems about how we got our English Bible ...it is awesome and it is only 1 hour long for the impatient folks!

Funny. I have my grandparents' Family Bible, a Douay (Challonier-Rheims) version, complete with the Imprimatur etc. It includes a little section in the front about 'reading the Bible'. It contains an admonishment that 'Catholics are forbidden to read Protestant versions of the Bible, including the King James version'.

Well, you said…absolutely nothing that refers to my statement that the Catholic Church was the State Religion of England…which proves you have zero idea what you're talking about, because it (The Catholic Church) was.
"Many of the key tenets of the Reformation were not new: they had been anticipated in England by the teachings of the theologian and reformer John Wycliffe in the fourteenth century. But Wycliffe and his followers, known as Lollards, had been suppressed, and, officially at least, England in the early sixteenth century had a single religion, Catholicism, whose acknowledged head was the Pope in Rome."
http://www.wwnorton.com/college/english/nael/16century/topic_3/welcome.htm
"While embracing some themes of the Protestant Reformation, the Church of England also maintains Catholic traditions of the ancient church and teachings of the Church Fathers, unless these are considered contrary to scripture."
"The high church party places importance on the Church of England's continuity with the pre-Reformation Catholic Church, adherence to ancient liturgical usages and the sacerdotal nature of the priesthood."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_England
"In the early sixteenth century, England's single official religion was Catholicism, and the head of the Church was the pope in Rome. Catholic liturgy and the Bible were in Latin, which few lay people understood."
http://wwnorton.com/college/english/nael9/section/volB/overview.aspx
Esaias, do some research before you go spouting off lies and bogus information.
Even during and after the Reformation, England still adhered to the Traditions and Teachings of Catholicism, because of one simple fact; Modern Christianity came from Rome, and whether we like it or not, the American (Christian) Church is modeled after the Catholic Church. Just like tomorrow, most Christians will celebrate Easter, a Roman Catholic Holiday/Tradition.

Why can't I quote Scripture? Just like any other Book on Earth, the Bible holds important truths very relevant to life and history.
But, just like any other Book, there are flaws and material information in the Bible that need scrutiny because of strong Religious influence and interpretation. Don't forget Esther, the Bible is a very new part of Faith in the World today.
Mass production of the Bible did not take place until modern Printing Presses were invented, leaving a majority of the Human Race without one.

No lies here, my friend.
The truth is, even Protestant Churches held closely to Catholic teachings and traditions. Especially the Churches during the Reformation. Are you celebrating Easter tomorrow?
I was a Catholic for 18 years, serving in many capacities, including 6 years of schooling, altar boy, first holy communion, Confirmation, etc. I've been in the Apostolic movement for 36 years, almost 20 as a pastor. I've attended countless churches, and you will find, the Catholic Church has left her mark on every single one, no matter the Denomination. Sean, Religion is Religion, and we (Modern Christianity) are the result of the Catholic Church and the domination of Rome in Europe during the times after the death of Jesus Christ.
"James gave the translators instructions intended to guarantee that the new version would conform to the ecclesiology and reflect the episcopal structure of the Church of England and its belief in an ordained clergy. The translation was done by 47 scholars, all of whom were members of the Church of England."

(Is that why Catholics tried to kill every protestant they met...even burn their Bibles under Catholic kings and popes.
This period you are referring to is called the REFORMATION period. These reformers only had the Bible available for a short time(because of the printing press) and according to the knowledge they could glean, began to "break away" from the Catholic church. It took hundreds of years and it is still being reformed(back to the original teachings) today.) BTW...I dont do "easter"

I AM IN THE TRUE BRIDE OF JESUS CHRIST(of 2000 years ago), and have COMPLETELY forsaken my Catholic ways also (18 years of catechism ,confessions etc.)

From Wikipedia: consider it as you will
In 1534, King Henry VIII separated the English Church from Rome.[6] A theological separation had been foreshadowed by various movements within the English Church such as Lollardy, but the English Reformation gained political support when Henry VIII wanted an annulment of his marriage to Catherine of Aragon so he could marry Anne Boleyn. Pope Clement VII, considering that the earlier marriage had been entered under a papal dispensation and how Catherine's nephew, Emperor Charles V, might react to such a move, refused the annulment. Eventually, Henry, although theologically opposed to Protestantism, took the position of Supreme Head of the Church of England to ensure the annulment of his marriage. He was excommunicated by Pope Paul III.[12]

He was excommunicated by Pope Paul III.[12]

"Henry maintained a strong preference for traditional Catholic practices and, during his reign, Protestant reformers were unable to make many changes to the practices of the Church of England. Indeed, this part of Henry's reign saw the trial for heresy of Protestants as well as Roman Catholics.
Under his son, King Edward VI, more Protestant-influenced forms of worship were adopted. Under the leadership of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Cranmer, a more radical reformation proceeded. A new pattern of worship was set out in the Book of Common Prayer (1549 and 1552). These were based on the older liturgy but influenced by Protestant principles. The confession of the reformed Church of England was set out in the Forty-two Articles (later revised to thirty-nine). The reformation however was cut short by the death of the king. Queen Mary I, who succeeded him, returned England again to the authority of the papacy, thereby ending the first attempt at an independent Church of England. During her co-reign with her husband, King Philip, many leaders and common people were burnt for their refusal to recant of their reformed faith. These are known as the Marian martyrs and the persecution led to her nickname of "Bloody Mary".
Mary also died childless and so it was left to the new regime of her half-sister Elizabeth to resolve the direction of the church. The settlement under Queen Elizabeth I (from 1558), known as the Elizabethan Settlement, developed the via media (middle way) character of the Church of England, a church moderately Reformed in doctrine, as expressed in the Thirty-Nine Articles, but also emphasizing continuity with the Catholic and Apostolic traditions of the Church Fathers. It was also an established church (constitutionally established by the state with the head of state as its supreme governor). The exact nature of the relationship between church and state would be a source of continued friction into the next century.
For the next century, through the reigns of James I, who ordered the creation of what became known as the King James Bible,[13] and Charles I, culminating in the English Civil War and the Protectorate of Oliver Cromwell, there were significant swings back and forth between two factions: the Puritans (and other radicals) who sought more far-reaching Protestant reforms, and the more conservative churchmen who aimed to keep closer to traditional beliefs and Catholic practices. The failure of political and ecclesiastical authorities to submit to Puritan demands for more extensive reform was one of the causes of open warfare. By Continental standards, the level of violence over religion was not high, but the casualties included King Charles I and Archbishop of Canterbury William Laud. Under the Commonwealth and the Protectorate of England from 1649 to 1660, the bishops were dethroned and former practices were outlawed, and Presbyterian ecclesiology was introduced in place of the episcopate. The 39 Articles were replaced by the Westminster Confession, the Book of Common Prayer by the Directory of Public Worship. Despite this, about one quarter of English clergy refused to conform to this form of State Presbyterianism."
Even after England become moderately "Reformed", she still adhered to deep Catholic Tradition and Doctrine. Have you ever been to a Presbyterian Church? I have, and unless you understand the difference between the two, you would think they were Catholics.
Well they were Protestants, plain and simple here. It was in the beginning stages of the Reformation. God did not reveal Acts 2:38 to the Protestants yet(in recorded history)...they were just newly broken away from Catholicism. They were persecuted by Catholics like "bloody Mary" because they "protested" the Catholic church. The church of England along with most churches these days "still" carry some various degrees of Catholic traditions(Apostolics and veils for instance)...but they are in no way Catholic.

What's wrong with wikipedia?
It allows users to edit pages. It's not an accurate source. I try not to use it much, and whenever I see someone has used it as a source, I tend to mostly disregard it, because it's been proven to be filled with inaccurate information.
I don't know if this has changed, but for a while most colleges wouldn't allow it to be used as a source.
Don't waste your time.

You are not only dodging the bullet, you are twisting the truth, exactly what the Religions of the World do. In the end, it's nothing but a lie.
3 sources I posted? You didn't even tell us which posts, or from which Thread! Give me a break!! Why don't you actually go to my page and look at ALL of my posts and Threads that I've started, then come to that conclusion.
Of course, then you would have to tell us the truth, not a fable.

If anyone uses Wikipedia, just make sure you cross reference with other sources. Many use Wikipedia first, because it usually comes up at the top of a "Search". Also remember that Encyclopedias from 20 years ago are totally outdated in many areas--reason; we are still learning.
You also have to cross reference any other site used to validate facts, as a biased or exaggerated view can botch a document, including previously trusted sites used by a someone who is seeking truth.

Yeah, you've learned to do all the right things. You always forgive and move on, thus earning yourself a badge of self righteousness and religious piety.
I'm not bitter, regardless of what you think or say. I do get mad once in a while, and even cuss, but bitterness is not one of my problems right now. Anger can lead to bitterness, but I'm not there yet.

Sorry to see it.

I appreciate the "nicer" post than the last one, but, don't you see yourself? You threw stones at me on the last one, now you're recanting. "Earning yourself the badge of bitterness", correcting me like I'm your kid.
Turn around and get a hold of myself? HAHA! I refuse to continue in the lies of Religion, period! I will not be manipulated by you or anyone else, with the psychopathic persuasions of the unseen.
I've have watched countless people walk away from Christianity because they were sick and tired of being told they were not good enough, and that Hell awaited them because they were backsliders.

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
