Does anyone else ever get the overwhelming desire to be able to travel to some remote beach or some cabin in the mountains, or simply getting away from our regular routine to get alone with God and his word? I almost feel like I need to "reset" my love for His word by getting alone for several days and just filling myself up with the word and praying. I listen to a lot of sermons, but there's nothing like allowing God to speak directly to you through his Word alone. I'm a musician at church so I rarely get to go to the altar after a sermon, but when I get to my altar at home, there is nothing like it. I wish I could run home after every sermon and just get alone with God.

Just wanted to share my Monday morning thoughts. Hope you all have a good week!

Yes good quality time with Jesus. If we abide in him good things happen!

By far, that is(alone) the best time to pray.

Its always been rather difficult for me to pray when with a large group doing the same (altar, prayer room, etc). Entering into my "closet" becomes so much easier when its just me and Him, alone in my home. Being a retiree that affords me lots of opportunity. Oft-times, especially of late, I spend almost the whole day reading the Bible, praying, and seeking to attain a "deeper" walk with God. He never disappoints!

Spending time alone with the Lord would be a life changing experience, if you can pull it off. I would highly recommend that you find somewhere to do such a thing.

I personally love living in the remote location that we do with the beauty of nature around. We live where there are mountains around us, state and federal land available to hike on, as well as multiple lakes, ponds, and rivers to visit. There is really no peace like walking in the woods, listening to the stillness, broken occasionally by the birds or squirrels chattering, and just enjoying the beauty the Lord has afforded to us. It has blessed us beyond measure to live in such a place.

It would be wonderful for you to have several days alone, or with a close companion who is one in spirit with your desire to seek and search after the Lord, (or if that is not possible time alone would be valuable too). I pray that the Lord opens up that opportunity for you. I pray that the Lord opens a door for you to find this place of peace and solitude with Him. God Bless :)
