Is there anyone else here who posted at the original FCF and remembers that? For some reason it popped into my head today. I can't remember his name (or username), just that he was a young guy, who robbed a bank and went to prison. I remember sending out cards/letters to him a few times. But this was like 9 or 10 years ago.
Does anyone know what happened to him? Where he ended up? Is he still in jail?
I vaguely remember that but can't remember who it was.

Ok, once someone was able to give me a clue to his name, (Nathan Johnson) I found these two threads:

http://www.apostolicfriendsforum.com/showthread.php?t=10346
He posted this, on 12/25/13

Last night a friend told me about this thread.
Though I'm sure many of the people I 'knew' from the old forums are no longer posting here, I wanted to briefly respond for those who are still around, and for any of the old crew who may stumble upon this in the future.
I am alive, quite well, and happy. I applied my abilities toward the pursuit of business and have enjoyed great success. I am continuing on that path and remain confident about my future.
With time, introspection, and experience, I have come to hold radically different views of God, the church, and self, than in the past.
To explain "why" I did what I did, the totality of my mindset and the immediate circumstances, would involve writing at length. Much of what I would have to say, the majority of people either would not relate to, or would refuse to believe.
I made my own choices, I am responsible for my actions just as much then as I am today. I do not believe I was damaged by those who undermined my faith - on the contrary, they helped set me free. I am unplugged now, in tune with myself and the realities of this world, in a way that I never was before. For that reason, I think those who were criticized in this thread, are undeserving of such. Was my response to freedom appropriate? No. Yet that blame cannot be laid at anyone's feet but my own.
Thank you sincerely, for those who sent me letters, asked to visit, etc. Especially those who supported my family.

Oh Fun! Mine would read... "I'm the one who left standards, then the doctrine, got pregnant out of wedlock and married an Atheist. I could be your sermon topic. Ask me How!" :heeheehee
(But I guess it's kind of long....lol)

Sometimes robbing a bank can really interfere with your church attendance.

But you might net a few extra ministerial visits and prayers if you can figure out how to tithe on that 'increase'. J/K!!!!! (Well, mostly)

Now this is no reflection on any poster or former poster connected to AFF or any person we may or may not know who has actually robbed or attempted to rob a bank...
but
I spent a couple years on college working as a jailer.... I found more than a few fellers that were far better at living for God IN jail, than they were OUT...
just sayiing...

I can imagine that. Some people need a lot of structure and to stay as far away from anything close to temptation as possible.
Like a recovering alcoholic, some can't even be around anyone who drinks at all ever, others are fine as long as they don't do it themselves.
