With the holiday weekend upon us, I would love to hear what others are doing to celebrate our freedom in this great country. Is your family getting together? BBQ? Watermelon? Ice cream? Parades? Do tell and share your weekend plans (I needed to start a topic that is light and fun after all the "heavy" topics underway here right now!)

Our plans involve visiting a local town that has a huge Memorial Day parade, and our son will be playing in the marching band. We also have friends coming to visit for the weekend, and look forward to some homemade ice cream, watermelon, chicken fajitas, and baby back ribs, and lots of relaxation, and visiting.

How about you?

Kickin it and relaxin' til tomorrow (Memorial day) when I'm chief chef for my annual Barbequed Turkey lunch and baseball game. I left the recipe in the Chef's corner section for anyone who wants to try turkey barbequed. Used to do the deep fryer style but got tired of the mess and tried barbequed turkey a few years ago and will never go back to fried cos barbequed is the best.

Have a safe memorial day everyone!
