I was watching CNN earlier, and they were interviewing a man who formerly worked for the Bush administration. (I can't remember his name.) He suggested churches should be raising money to help pay illegal aliens fines for being in the country and help pay for them to become citizens. Is this a job for the church?

The church has enough poverty and doesn't meet the needs of her own people at times... speaking of finances, of course.

I do not think that is the mission of the church--or its responsibility either!

No, I don't think the church should support breaking the law.
I think it depends on where the person is from. If they are from one of these countries known for terrorizing Christians and killing them left and right then yes, I would agree the church should help their own. But if you are talking about these Mexicans coming here just to find jobs and whatnot, the answer is NO.

Other than having to look in the mirror and see the results, we don't claim white folks. I hope that drives you completely up the wall. :lol

Say what??? Bro., aren't Mexicans more Indian than anything else? I am not up on y'alls history or roots, so I may be wrong here, but aren't the Aztecas the furthest back anyone has been able to trace Mexican ancestry?

I claim the French and the Spanish...

See. Ya learn something new every day. I did not know Mexicans had French roots. Us Puerto Ricans have Spaniard roots too. That's why Chan says we're white. I don't consider anything that speaks Spanish as its native language to be white though, so that's where he and I disagree.

I think, even the Italians are considered white. When I took the ASVAB, I was told to pick your race or your ethnic group. Mexican/hispanics are not a race. We are an ethnic group.
The Spanish hate when you confuse them for messican. Well, I wonder if they get upset when you remind them that more than likely, they have Arab/black blood. When a people is conquered, their women are raped, and children are born. Mexico, for example.
Spain was conquered by the Moors, muslim people from the Western Mediterranean and the Western Sahara.

I don't really know about the Italians, to be honest with you. Aren't they the precursor of sorts to us Spanish speaking folks? I know their language is very similar to Spanish, but isn't it close to Latin than ours? I really don't know.

Definitely NO!!!!..........Illegal aliens should be sent back to their countries...I know there is no way to round them all up, but we shouldn't be honoring the fact that they broke the law.

Well, we are currently in the process of helping the husband of a lady in our church, who is from Mexico. We are helping him to be legal. We just found out that he was in the country illegally.
We are not in favor of him being in the country illegally. We ARE in favor of him doing whatever it takes to become legal. We are happy to help, but we're not going to do all for him either. He has 3 children and currently works in a restaraunt for tips only.
Other than having to look in the mirror and see the results, we don't claim white folks. I hope that drives you completely up the wall. :lolHow you choose to deceive yourselves is up to you. Of course, it must really rub you the wrong way to think that you and I happen to share the same two ancestors (Adam and Eve).

The Spanish side of me is not phased by the black blood and puzzled by the Arab blood... Now the German side of me is highly outrage at the suggestion I could be either black or arab.... :killinme

If by "the church" you mean all of christianity paying for every illegal in the country even those they dont know from Adam, then the dude that said it needs a swift kick in the pants.
If by "the church" you mean an individual church that has some person that is a member, who is an illegal, but that church values that person, and they decide to help that person out, then I do not have any problem with "the church" helping.
however, we are talking about a law that has not passed yet so it is kind of mute.
