but i still managed to track it down--and it's sad that 'leaving religion' seems to = 'losing faith' with the mainstream...but what do you expect :lol

I agree A does not equal B. But the effects quoted in the article are real. Imagine finally realizing that what you were told for so long are not correct, then you finally leave. You prayed, ate and worshiped with these people who you now disagree with.

amen there! and yet, many find only the disagreement mentioned by E45. I will say that, having been one of them, this serves to reveal one's premises, if they can but see it. Having never been a 'joiner,' i've never left a church under a cloud--but my disagreement was revealed here.

I think many misunderstand "Church", being a relationship with God not the pastor
I also believe many are in bad churches with control freaks for pastors
