Sorry to hear. I remember getting a newsletter from him when I was newly come to Oneness.

Back in 1985 I went up to St. Paul for a convention of Churches that were Charismatic and baptized in Jesus name. They also practiced body ministry in a way I had not previously seen. They had been established by a Brother named Maynard Howe.

I had recently taught a Bro from Minnesota concerning Oneness and baptism in Jesus name. After accepting it along with his house Church he had found one of these Churches in his town and started attending them and turned me on to Bro Howe.

So I had come up to the Convention that year to meet this man of God. When I arrived my friend shared with me that just before I arrived that Robert Sabin had just left!

I was really surprised because Sabin was more of a UPC type Brother. He said he was listening and Bro. Sabin was questioning the Elders about the way they did body ministry. So apparently Sabin was (at least at that time) on a search for a more Biblical way of doing things. May he rest in peace until resurrection day.

I talked to him on the phone in 1992 as an AoG minister who had just recently been rebaptized in the name of Jesus. I know he sort of changed his stand on the new birth to a degree after leaving the UPCI. But I think he stopped short of embracing full blown evangelicalism. i was hoping to talk to him again but that will have to wait until the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. May God bring peace to his family.

Deepest sympathies to his family. I will not forget our doctrinal discussions. It was an honor to witness the respect others had for him as well - you knew when this man was in the room. Loved his jovial side.

The address given above for Hudson Blvd. is for ABI, or Apostolic Bible Institute (my wife went there before we were married), where Bro. Sabin used to be a main teacher and minister, until he left the UPCI.

I think it's great to see that whatever differences occurred in the past, ABI is hosting his funeral. Maybe some healing and restoration of fellowship can occur.

I think the funeral service will be streamed live. Bro Sabin attended Kings Quest Church in Woodbury for the last few years. He was respected by many.

Probably the favorite teacher at ABI.....not counting Bro. Norris. He was the "best" ________teacher,pastor,friend. Enjoyed his classes as well as his friendship.
