This is shocking, and should be a wake-up call to the price Americans are going to be paying for the illegal immigrants crossing our borders from Latin America.

And I might add, this disease (along with the enterovirus disease that has killed several young children recently) is getting far less attention, than Ebola, which has not even killed one American yet.

I thought the guy in Dallas died?

Yes, Thomas Duncan died, but he was from Africa. He wasn't an American. I am not aware of an American dying from Ebola, yet.

Well, no matter what don't "take the shot" and don't go to any quarantine camp...

Chagas is very easilly treatable unless left untreated for a long period of time. Even then, chronic Chagas is not a death sentence.

The FLU kills more Americans EVERY YEAR than any of these diseases and infections that some Republicans have tried to politicize lately.

The FLU!
The FLU!
The FLU!

The FLU is DEADLY and is airborne. Maybe we should put a travel ban on ourselves once FLU SEASON arrives.

The flu indeed can be deadly. Yet... this "kissing" disease actually manifests itself with symptoms very similar to the flu. So... unless thorough testing is done, there may be more people with heart disease, etc., who had the "flu" several years ago, didn't realize it may have been the kissing disease, and now they have the full blown Chagas disease.

Before you blithely discount the dangers of this disease, you should understand that 1) it's only treatable in its early stages, and since it's not something our Dr's have had experience with and the symptoms are close to that of the flu, it's generally not found in the early stages; 2) when you take the conditions Chagas causes - especially the cardiac problems - then add to that condition what many Americans have, diabetes, it does become a death sentence. Only there's no date affixed to the execution. Instead, it becomes a ticking time-bomb which could go off at any time.

Treatment of the disease is done through antiparasitic drugs to kill the parasite, but that can only be done if the Chagas is caught in its early stages. If it goes untreated past its acute stage, the Chagas can only be managed by patients with chronic cardiac or intestinal problems by devices like pacemakers and medications for irregular heartbeats.

Yeah, them dirty, evil Republicans!

I think I have kissing disease.....

Or, I would like to have kissing disease....

Or... could I just skip the disease and just keep the kissing?

I just really try to stay out of the illegal immigration threads - because - it really ticks me off that we have such open borders.

Last week, and I am going to look like a mean and ugly person who doesn't really care..... :heeheehee

I parked to go into the grocery store and a vehicle with two illegals loading groceries were next to me. Another sat in the passengers seat. When I got out, he gives that very predictable (I am sexy and you want me, don't you?) smirk, looking me up and down. Oh my gosh, please do not tick me off. I looked at him, glared, and said, "What are you looking at?" He quickly turned facing the front and didn't look at me again. :throwrock

I deleted everything else I wrote... I hate open borders.

You know you can tell. Their clothing, vehicles, etc. And his straw hat was a dead give away.

What really makes me mad is that you want to be a Christian and be friendly, but they mistake any kindness as a come on. I agree with my husband - they come here and are only interested in beer and sex.

I was rude, but I felt like I was defending all the women that they consistently leer at. Ugh! I can hardly stand illegals.

He was Mexican, course he was illegal!

Don't you know anything?

I mean, with x-ray vision she saw his papers! Maybe she should get a job with the border patrol, they would appreciate the ability to be able, at a glimpse, to tell the legal status of them Mexicans!

Probably he was just a young Hispanic, saw a pretty girl and thought "Hey, what's your name?"

If I had taken a picture and showed it to you, you would have agreed. I live fairly close to the Border, so it's easy to recognize who is who. There is a distinction between American Mexicans and Illegals. But that isn't really the issue. If that is profiling, so be it. The police here have to use the same judgment.

I wouldn't have been angry if he had just smiled, but looking me up and down while doing it, not a good idea on his part. Anyway, I realize I have to work on this, not that I accept the mass illegal dumping that is being forced on us as Texans. It's the negative aspects they bring to our state, including the thread title, that are just really unsettling.

The police just recently uncovered a stash house in my neighborhood, a little girl was molested by an illegal, and the list goes on. It just makes me angry and I need to pray about it more. I think I'm more upset at my reaction to the guy at the grocery store. Anger isn't the first thing I want to come out of the gate with. But, there it is. I am angry.

I used to live in McAllen. I worked in Pharr, down the street from the Pharr puente. I worked daily with truck drivers that delivered from Mexico. I know what they look like. Often times very indistinguishable from citizens.

It's cool. You got pissed.

Perhaps that close to the border, it would makes sense. But, I'm not in McAllen. Although, when I've been in Nuevo Laredo and come back across the border, I'd say, you really can distinguish many.

Anyway, today I was at the mall and passed by a Hispanic American - straw hat - Resistol. Not the same hat the illegal was wearing. They have very distinguishable clothing. At least they do around here.

Yes, I was mad. Must have been. That happened last week and I am still mad. LOL! Okay, I'm not going to talk about it anymore because it doesn't help me get over it. I am trying to pray about this more, because I know it is not right to feel this way.

I was watching a Boko Haram survivor being interviewed by Greta VanSusteren. He was so kind. I knew I was nowhere close to where he was. I will post the link because I started crying during the interview. He is where the Gospel wants us to be. He puts most American Christians to shame, IMO, including myself.

If you get a chance, watch the clip. It's very moving.
