"I don't want a white man as my pastor! We've come too far by faith to let a white man still have authority over us, and I'll not submit to a white man as pastor." said a brother of color to me when I was traveling through central Florida a number of years ago.

Of course, this isn't the dominant mentality among people of black heritage, but there is a prevailing attitude of this sort among many southern blacks.

Whites aren't any better. I live in the north, and there's a few churches here locally where black men lead the local congregation of mostly white churches. Many older white church members have said that they don't want a black man as pastor.

I pray for these types of people that the scales of racism would fall from their eyes.

So much for unity.

I'd like a black pastor. I am white as can be but there's so many awesome and anointed black preachers out there that put many white ones to shame! :D I am not TV preacher watcher, but man those black dudes can outpreach most of the white preachers on there! Woohoo! I think I have more black in me than white! lol

I like to hear good preaching but a pastor needs to have more than just pulpit ministry. It is sad but preaching has become an entertainment industry. Skin color shouldn't matter, but the character of the man should be important. God places pastors in people's lives and we should follow after God and not personal preferences.

I could care less what color the skin is. Color of skin should never be the issue.

Skin color is not an issue at all with me.

For someone who is looking for a church, I am having a hard time finding someone who meets the first 2 items on my list.

1. A Christian - Not just in Word but in Deeds. Must have fruits of the Spirit. Can't act like God needs them but they need God.
2. A Seeker of Truth not a follower of Tradition.

I have a few more on my list.

Some might find this strange that I have a list but I was in a place for a long time. I divorced myself and now I am looking for a new home and know exactly what to look for. I have kids so I am taking this seriously.

I have a white Pastor.

As long as I can understand the language my Pastor preaches to us in, I am good.

My Black Charismatic/Apostolic Pastor who baptized me in Jesus name was an exciting teacher who I learned a lot from. He was also a personal friend.
