Work Issues vs. Religious Beliefs

I had to ask this question.

On my current job there is a man who is having a sex change. Now this man wants to be referred to as a "she". Now personally I have no problem with calling him a "she" now but one of my religious co-workers does because of their religious beliefs.

I am just wondering to myself who is doing the right thing here? Should I have a problem with referring to a man as a "she" also? WWJD?

I have learned to separate my beliefs from minor work issues such as this. I do not feel I am in condemnation by referring to a man as a "she" just because I do not believe in what they are doing.

Am I right? Am I under-reacting?

This is America I live in and everyone has the right to do whatever they want regards of if I think they are going to hell for it. Now I will say if someone were to ask me did I agree with what they are doing I would say no quickly.

I would say... follow the Spirit. Whatever you feel the Spirit leading YOU to do in this circumstance, that is what you should do. If it isn't want your religious co-worker might do, so be it. There might be a very good reason for why the Spirit wishes to draw a contrast between you and your religious co-worker that none of us may ever known until eternity. You are NEVER wrong when following the leading of the Spirit.

Now, my own personal thoughts... generally, I refer to people as they want to be addressed. To me, it's an issue of respect. It matters not what I might prefer to call them. And sadly, as time goes by and common sense appears to become less and less common... I'd tend to want to call them something they wouldn't like anyways. lol

I would say follow the written word of God. people often "follow the Spirit" in contradiction to what the word clearly states. The Holy Ghost will never contradict the word of God. Stick with the word.

God has made it pretty clear about the differences between men and women. He is a man regardless of surgery or anything else. Even if a surgery takes place HE will have to take medications to artificially help HIM look like a woman. What is worse is that in some places men are going into women's dressing rooms and bathrooms because they say they fell like a woman. Women who speak up are castigated.

We certainly live in a time when people call good evil and evil good.

Amen, the Spirit will never contradict Scripture. However, the Spirit may, on occasion, challenge our traditional understandings and interpretations of the Scripture. The Spirit has challenged traditional dogmas regarding spiritual gifts, the Trinity, baptism, sacrements, holiness, slavery, race, etc.. If the Spirit never challenged our dogmas...there wouldn't be an Apostolic movement. So, I do believe we should consider challenging leadings of the Spirit.
