Also from Senator Ted Cruz today:
Ted Cruz: Regulating the Internet threatens entrepreneurial freedom
In the past, such a person would have to know the right people and be able to raise substantial start-up capital to get a brick-and-mortar store running. Not anymore. The Internet is the great equalizer when it comes to jobs and opportunity. We should make a commitment, right now, to keep it that way.
We don’t leave our constitutional rights behind when we go online. The same commitment to the principles of liberty that made the United States the greatest economic superpower that the world has ever seen must prevail in the virtual world as well.

Here's What 'Net Neutrality' Is... and What to Think About It
These groups want to stick it to service providers—as hated in the US as water companies, vegetarians and Liberal Democrats are in the UK—but what they don't realise is that by denying providers the chance to manage their networks as they see fit, and set flexible prices for the services they offer, they're only hastening the day the provider switch to more aggressive pricing strategies.

61% Oppose Federal Regulation of the Internet
Thursday, November 13, 2014
Americans really like the online service they currently have and strongly oppose so-called “net neutrality” efforts that would allow the federal government to regulate the Internet.

It's good to see the high numbers opposing this. I remember once, though, there were high numbers against obamacare. That still passed and is still law...for now.

Right, but this new roll out of the videos with Jonathan Gruber saying they lied about the tax to get it passed is huge.
I also noticed that Fox News won't mention that Gruber was also the architect for Romneycare. Romney needs to answer for this as well. He needs to take some responsibility concerning Gruber as he used him before Obama.

While we're slapping Romney, we need to remember the Republican leadership in the Senate co-signed the Health Equity and Access Reform Today bill. Before Romney signed it into law as Gov in 2006 - way back in '93, Chaffee, Dole, and Hatch (among others) co-signed a bill which included an individual mandate and had other similarities to obamacare.

David, Sure, we can look at the HEART bill. However, that is not going to erase the Romneycare debacle, Romney himself calling it one of his "signature accomplishments". He said that his plan would cost around $707 million per year. Where did half that funding come from? The Federal Government. The plan heavily regulates the private insurance industry so much that low-cost insurers just avoid doing business in the state. His plan also has increased state-funded abortion, massively.
"Romneycare is covering the uninsured at a cost of about $6,700 each. For comparison, in 2007 the average cost nationally of an individual policy was just $2,600. That’s a bad idea, even by government standards." - Cato Institute
Anyway, We have tons of stuff about ORomney on this forum, which I don't, plan to, again, go over ad nauseam. But as you brought this up, I will respond to it.
Go way, Mitt. Just go away. :thumbsup

For anyone interested in a deeper analysis...
The Lie Behind the Promise of Net Neutrality
Much has been made of President Obama’s recent mandate to the FCC to enact regulation that is intended to ensure Net Neutrality. As a network operator, I have a rather unique view into this particular dispute. I’ve lived on the front lines of the battle for years. Organizations such as the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), who has an excellent record of supporting free speech on the Internet, have lauded Obama’s directive, and popular opinion seems to be clearly in favor of the move, aided by a brilliant propaganda campaign by those who stand to gain financially. On it’s face, enacting regulation to ensure a free and open Internet seems like it would be a great thing. Dive a little deeper into the proposed rules, however, and you will find that this initiative is largely driven by cronyism, and that there are unintended side effects that could forever change the Internet’s status as forum for free and open communication.
Let’s start by getting a little background on the current debate.
