From any time period.
Who are the anointed preachers you would/do listen to?

John Eckstat of the UPC was the most anointed on the Godhead. 1960's-1970's.

Dave Huston Carlisle Christian Fellowship. As far as the Apostolic foundations he is the most anointed in the modern UPC.

Brother Eckstadt certainly was in his day. My family heard him preach oneness when they first came into this truth. I've known his family, great people!

I think we have several of our own members here on AFF who are annointed preachers - in no particular order I am thinking of Bro. Blume, Bro. MTD, and Bro. Votivesoul. All three have provided teaching videos/audio for us to enjoy. There may be others, but those are three that I can think of right now.

It was through Eckstats teaching I came into Oneness indirectly. I was in a Charismatic Church in 1980. The Pastor there had heard him preach it and accepted it. When he in turn taught it I accepted it.

He also taught the great truth of the resurrection of the dead.

The apostles Paul, Peter, John, et al. Also, must not forget, the Lord Jesus Christ, as well as all of the "holy prophets." It has been from these that I've learned most!

(The originator of this thread did say "anointed" preachers "from any time period," right?)

Regarding contemporary "anointed" preachers, besides some of those that have already been mentioned by name, Steve Pixler of Cornerstone Apostolic Church in Texas is one that I enjoy listening to, among others, of course.

In the beginning of my almost 30 years in UPC churches the term was heavily associated with the preachers outward expressions. I have felt the anointing on several occasions. I saw less emphasis in the last 20 years or so. You never really heard someone say "he was really under the anointing" following a message. Some of this might have had more to do with the culture of the NW compared to other regions. Just my experience.

The phrase "he was really anointed" seems to be more common among charismatics in my experience. Real anointing, while it probably will produce "powerful" expressiveness, will really be a factor of "the right word at the right time". Imo.

What you wrote below was a good one. Put laughter in my day, thanks.

I don't know how to do the quotes thing so this is how it looks.

Well obviously the Lord Jesus was and is the most anointed Preacher in the Universe. Compared to him Ive never heard an anointed Preacher.

The sermons of Billy H. Cole always "stirred up" the Holy Ghost in me. He was truly an "anointed" preacher, evangelist, and missionary. One just doesn't find very many Apostolic Pentecostal men of God that was able to deliver the gospel message quite like he did. He may be gone to his "long home," but the memories of him and his preaching will endure long.
