This may be of interest to some here. Because I'm on disability my children received money as well.
I know there are those who may be tithing their children's benefits of which may come to backfire.
They have been asking what you are doing with their money. I would feel very uncomfortable not telling them the whole truth. I don't think giving it to a 501c3 tax exempt institution is going to fly very well. It's like giving 10% to the salvation army.
The scary part is you may have to pay it back.
Disability is different from SSI.
Not trying to start an anti-tithing thread, we have enough of those.
