Only that JA isn't preaching the closing night for the first time I can remember.

Interesting. Quite telling of just how displeased they were with what he did last year.

He was scheduled to preach a conference at a local church near where I live last fall, but they cancelled the conference shortly after BOTT last year.

And who is JA and why would BOTT have an issue with him?

Jeff Arnold.

The link below is from the thread from last year. Things were said. Apologies were made. However, the ripple effects have continued through to this year.

Maybe he has prior engagements? :)

So I read the 2014 thread. Watched the video. Stumbled across some blog called "thingsapostolicslike" (which ought to be called "lies and whinings exchristians like).

My conclusion?

1. JA probably needs to pray.

2. Most people need remedial reading and listening tutoring, or a crash course in ESL and some basic Critical Thinking 101.

I would think it is time for some new blood anyway at BOTT so maybe JA not being there is part of a move to diversify the lineup with some new faces.

I enjoyed JA 35 years ago when he was still young enough to get away with what he does. It gets a little hard to pull off the uncouth street guy when you are in your 60's or 70's. At some point people expect you to grow up.

I'd agree, except Cornwell and Williams are preaching again. IIRC, the reason Williams and Arnold were yearly speakers is because they were main sponsors of the conference.

I do agree it's time for new, more diverse speakers.

JA may have declined the invitation.

JA may have declined the invitation.
While that could be, I doubt an invitation was extended. He was criticized for a message preached over a decade ago, then came back the next year and preached one of the best messages I've heard him preach. The criticism then was doctrinal, not over ill chosen words spoken.

Looks like another great conference this year. I have friends attending BOTT who have been posting video clips to FB. Can't wait to get the DVDs. It's too bad they don't stream the services.

Has anyone heard how JA is after being taken to ER the other day? I heard the reason was a severe headache...

Hadn't heard about that. Thought I saw him on the platform with other ministers during Tuesday's service, but it panned over too fast.

Hope he's alright.

They probably don't stream services because that might would affect the overall attendance?

According to his church Facebook, he suffered a slight stroke, however, he is home and is doing well. Thank God!

From his son:

Hi church family

I wanted to take a few moments and give an update on my dad. These last few days have been quite a ordeal for my family and I. Even though I am an only child it has never quite seemed that way as you all (the church family) are an extension of our family. We are greatly for your prayers, visits, texts, emails, etc.

As most of you are aware we received the unfortunate news yesterday that my dad had a stroke this past Monday. This has cost him to lose some of his peripheral vision. We took him earlier this morning to follow up with the opthalmologist. They have confirmed that there has been damage to his peripheral vision. Unfortunately this damage may be permanent. He has been instructed that he is not allowed to drive for the next six months. This news was very hard on us but not quite as hard as on my dad. He loves his cars, driving and most of all his independence. We were able to see a primary care physician this afternoon. She has ordered further blood tests to check his cholesterol, sugars, etc. We are having those done first thing tomorrow morning. He is to follow up with a neurologist as well which his primary physician is getting him a referral.

Today has been extremely rough on my mother and I having to watch my dad hold onto my mother or I for assist with walking or helping him hold a pen. While in the car he gets disoriented as to where we are. It is very emotional for us to witness. We both feel so helpless and lost in a way. On the way back home from the doctor's my dad became overwhelmed as this all is a huge eye opener for him. He broke down crying and I overheard him praying for God to please help him. My mother also broke down and was praying with him.

We have a long hard road ahead but I know with God's help and yours we will get through this. Please lift up my dad in your prayers for strength and healing.

I keep hearing this said but have seen no proof. Does anyone have a link or a video or at least knowledge of where this supposed apology was made?
