How sad!!
I recall my Mom and Dad went to a General Conference back in the '60's. They came back with a (then) young songwriter/pianist and wife's album... Lanny & Marietta Wolfe. One particular song on that first album featured a men's group that sang part of "I Find No Fault in Him"; it was tremendous. When I looked to see who it was - it was Lari Goss and his brothers. Lari played keyboard and probably helped arrainge many of the early L. W. projects, I think, and my family feasted on those records.
Later, in the '80's when Phil Driscoll was so popular - I loved his music. Once again, Lari Goss was putting out marvelous accompaniment on the piano and arrangements.
Awesome musician. What a gifted man! We'll miss him - but I'm glad that you posted this. Wonderful memories.

Does Lari Goss have a connection to the UPCI?
I only recognize his name from his work with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir recordings of the late 80's and early 90's.

Ok.
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I thought maybe this Lari Goss was somehow connected to the early days of the UPCI or even PCI.

The last name "Goss" threw me off at first, too. :lol

Lari Goss arranged and produced almost every album recorded by the original Lanny Wolfe Trio. He also played piano for Nancy Harmon. Before all of that, he and his brothers traveled and sang in the southern gospel circuit.
Please take a moment and listen to this clip...the Booth Brothers are singing a classic written by Mosie Lister and arranged here by Lari Goss...he is on the piano. :)

I've always said that I think Ronnie Booth has the smoothest voices in gospel music today. Looking forward to hearing the newest member of the group in February...

Lari Goss' UPC connection predates Lanny Wolfe. If I remember correctly, he has produced projects for Murrell Ewing as well as Vesta Mangun. I remember him teaching a session at POA in the early nineties during a music conference and the interaction between Bro. Ewing and Sis Mangun. He was an amazing musician and Christian man.

Sis. Mangun recorded at the LeFevre Studio in Atlanta sometime in the 60s, and the Goss brothers were background vocalists and musicians there. So yes, that predates the Lanny Wolfe Trio.
He was a gifted man...

I was at that session. One
of the most talented Christian musicians since Bach!

Wow... Great song. :) Now if all of our churches could just do something along this line right before the preaching or maybe just at the altar call... :)
