View Full Version : My cat is missing

HeavenlyOne

This may not seem like a big deal to some, but I have a cat that's missing.

My son left the garage door open this evening along with the door that leads into the house. She went out, as she's a former barn cat, and I'm sure she was curious, having not been outside in several months now.

He went running after her, which only made things worse. She is in the city now and totally unfamiliar with her surroundings. LadyRev and I went looking for her, but she's nowhere to be found. We are all sick with worry and we need her to come home. She has a son and nephew here waiting on her.

Keep in mind that my son is sick that he wasn't responsible enough to shut the door and if she's gone forever, it will be devastating to him because he feels totally responsible.

Just say a little prayer. I believe God cares. Her name is Red.

We have put out food and left the garage open so she can get in, but she isn't familiar with this area, and she could be anywhere.

Lord, I come before you on behalf of HO and her family. Lord, allow the cat to use her senses to find her way back home... In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Thanks, Berk.

She's a special cat. I rescued her from farm life where she had to fend for herself. She was having three and four litters of kittens a year and was very thin. I had her spayed after her last litter, thus the reason why she is now a housecat. I was going to put her back out on the farm but she adapted so well to house life, I just couldn't put her back to fend for herself again.

I'm just sick and I have a bad headache....and I'm crying.

Thanks again.

I'll pray.

My son has prayed for his fish twice now and God has healed him. Once, a tumor literally fell off the its face the next day after the prayer. The second time, the fish was floating on his side and looked to be on his last fin. We prayed. My son then put his hand on the aquarium and said, "God, you did it once before and I know you can do it again!" :D Then he buried his head on my shoulder and cried.

Within a few hours, the fish was healed - again.

I think I'm headed to bed for the night. I'm exhausted as I've been helping LadyRev move and working in between.

Thanks again.

Awww!! We lost a cat like that a couple of years ago. It really was hard on us all! I will pray. You should call the humane society and see if they picked it up. You could also put up signs.

I LOVE this testimony!!!

I have had a "pastor's wife" at one time tell me that she did not think God was concerned about the details in our life.... And...not that I ever believed her... In fact, I told her that he most certainly does care about the details. After all, our hairs are numbered -- not just counted!

This is so very true... I have heard rescue stories of people finding their cats at their destroyed homes over a year after Katrina.... Some of the people who told me the stories were trying to encourage me to not give up hope on the three I lost in her, but I already knew in my heart they were gone...

That is true... I sure hope HO is not in the practice of mutilating her kitties via "declawing".

Amen, AK. That is a great way of looking at the small details of things. I will most definitely use that analogy.

It doesn't help that the construction crew showed up on my street this morning and have the road torn up.

No, there is no way I'd do that to a cat. I know some who do that, but if that cat gets out or someone has to give them up to someone else, they have no defense at all.

When I was a teen, I clipped the cats claws to reduce his clawing furniture. He spent just as much time outside as he did inside but I didn't realize the cost of clipping his nails. He came in one night with his stomach all bloody.

I never did that again.

My daughter and son went out passing flyers to the neighbors, but nobody has seen her. We left the garage partly open with food and water in the hopes she will make it home, but if she doesn't show within a week, she's gone.

LOL! No, she wasn't found in my dryer!

I wouldn't be so worried about her if we were in the country, but I don't want her squished on these roads here.

Just now got a call from a lady three houses away who said she was feeding a calico cat in her backyard. Since I haven't left for church yet, I flew downstairs and out the door, went over, and sure enough, it's RED!

She's home, although she didn't seem happy to be brought back.....LOL!

Whew, what a relief. Her collar is gone but I'm buying her one with her name and address on it now!

Thanks for everyone for praying. I knew God cared.

I have bad news, I'm afraid.

It's not my cat. In my excitement, I mistook her for my cat. They look similar, but after posting my report and getting ready to leave for church, I was watching her and thought, hmmm..she doesn't look the same.

Then she meowed.

My cat doesn't meow. She makes a throaty sound like 'rant', not 'meow'.

My cat acts like you are going to smack her when you pet her by putting her head up and wincing. This cat rears up it's back and puts her head down.

My cat doesn't like her feet messed with and will 'rant' and swipe at you. This cat doesn't care.

My cat has a thin tail. This cat's tail is fat and fluffy.

My cat has less fur on her belly due to being spayed. This cat has all it's fur.

And my cat knows where the kitty box is. This one thought it was in the living room corner!!!

Anyway, I went to the house where she was found and the ladies there said they'd never seen this cat except for the last couple days. It's obvious she belonged to someone, but I'm taking her to the humane society here in town and look for my cat there. This cat is also an older cat and has a breathing problem.

God is still watching, and I know He still cares and He'll bring her home.

Sorry for the bad news, everyone.

I would believe you except for a few things:

1. She has a cell phone.

2. She wears only fur and never skirts.

3. She's known to fight like a man.

4. She helped me study the scriptures to aid in my beliefs.

Went to the humane society today and gave them a description of her. Coincidentally, they had a cat almost identical to her there, but while I knew she wasn't mine, she was almost her twin, so I showed her to them so they could get a better idea of what she looked like.

I also took the other cat that I catnapped last night there so she could be found or adopted.

I have great news.

I was working the brat stand this morning when the humane society called me, saying a cat had been dropped off this morning and they thought it was mine.

I finished working the stand about noon and took my daughter with me to identify her. I knew right away it was her. Also, the fact that this cat doesn't meow, had recently been spayed, and has a diamond marking on her face was proof positive!

She's home and happy to be here, although the other cats hissed at her....LOL!

I thought she was gone forever and had just about given up hope. God is good!
