I have a question. Lots of Muslims immigrate to Europe and America. If Saudi Arabia and other Islamic nations are so great, why come to the West?

Because they are going to take over america, without a fight.

Want to see some interesting pictures, look at how people in Iran dressed before the Ayatollahs took over.

Very modern and western.

Today, Iran and the other muslem countries are set back 200 years.

The fact of the moslem faith is they want to conqueor.

Then they want to change the country that they have conquered to what they just left.

:rolleyes you won't sound quite as irretrievably ignorant if you at least figure out how to spell Muslim, there, oh world's largest arms dealer.

might be interesting watching them fight China for the scraps, perhaps.

If Saudi Arabia and other Islamic nations are so great, why come to the West?because they have stars in their eyes where America is concerned; they hear anecdotes of a 1950s America that no longer exists, and people being people, see greener grass here, as there are no jobs to speak of there, because of course their gov has monetized anything worth anything, and sold it to the developed world, and the people are left out.

Everyone wants to be in the land of plenty, with the gluttons, getting diabetes and cancer; and of course the stories don't include the pimps, the whores, the exotic dance clubs, crack smokers, casinos, and unattainable health care. And the rampant ignorance; yikes, to hold an intelligent conversation with an 11 year old Bedouin again...

So it's NOT that great there?

well, i thought it was heaven; but i had money, and I'm guileless enough--believe it or not--that i easily make friends, etc. So i guess it depends upon who you ask. They all eat real food, there are virtually no sick or fat people, and tv only at night i guess, that no one watches (that i know), so even an illiterate Egyptian (that speaks prolly 5 languages) is just a more engaging person. No ones fridge is stuffed full of food, that i saw; i mean, everything is fresh, even the tea. But this might also be a function of less money. I never saw anything in anyone's freezer, not even ice! No one uses ice; i had to walk 3/4 of a mile to get a bag of ice, in downtown Jerusalem, from the center.

the only time i saw police was in Jerusalem, and even then they were different; that is a study in contrasts, too. As a rule things are more chaotic in the city, but also more respectful of others. Jerusalem is a bubble anyway, kind of like Disneyland or something. The country (desert) is quite a bit slower, and cheaper.

No one proselytizes there--or at least it's kept very undercover--yet i had some of the best conversations about God. The churches i visited were discreet, yet very active within their own community. Pretty much everyone i know there--outside of sojourners--has at least two jobs. Large community of expats. All the news is local news, nothing about the West Bank or Gaza--which after all would be similar to news about...Watts, or Harlem, perhaps, here; and i just got weird looks when i brought that up. I just put it down to people living much more in the now, in the present day there, with more burdens, and less interest in what they can't control or affect.

Prolly my biggest problem is that i am still somewhat codependent, and no one there is, so this got me into some awkward situations.

Why are so many of us (westerners) in KSA? It's not to "conquor" them.

Why are so many of our businesses in Malaysia? Indonesia? Why are there so many western expats working there? Conquest?

It is my experience that movement has nothing to do with either religion or politics or conquest. Its generally about resources or economics.

I’ve only just started, but I’m going to drip feed so that I can make an example of you. You aren’t the first who took this path.

Prove it :lol

Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, extra page section !that’s supposed to be stampless! (with a saudi stamp on it grr) because it was pretty full. They don’t add extra pages for fun Dommie. You have to go in, apply for them, and demonstrate a need for them. Means your passport has to be almost full AND has to be nowhere near expired. So What’s this make? 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017? I’ve only really snapped what? 5 pages? The EXTRA adder is 20 more. I could probably wallpaper your grubby little kitchen with visas and passport stamps. tssk @ visas. They have names. Spiritual Abusing Stalkers require special handling.

SO for starters: Pages and pages of entry/exit stamps overlapping stamps overlapping more stamps. This one got renewed in 2015ish so it’s the passport before the snapped pages on the other thread.

Truly so many stamps and flights and trips and entry/exits I don’t remember some of them. I’ll write a book about it someday, I’ll call it “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”. LOL @ you One of us has a whole imagined scenario (kid, basement, smoking mama’s ciggys, Walter Mitty remember that Nangie?) and one of us is telling the truth. EXCEPT Mama’s basement is FULL of passports and passport stamps and itineraries and travel records and all kinds of cool stuff like photos of places and adventures going back to I dunno 2006 or so.

Why wouldnt the Muslims rather go to SA for the same reason?

Why wouldnt the Muslims rather go to SA for the same reason?

A high percentage of the 10+ mil (ish?) workers over there are Muslims from other countries that are either predominantly Muslim or have high Muslim populations.
They round up and send home thousands of people every year who arrive on Haj or Umrah visas and stay behind to work.

A few years ago you couldn’t get statistics, now it seems they publish them.

https://www.globalmediainsight.com/blog/saudi-arabia-population-statistics-2018/

Recent report. The smallest segment is westerners.
