Anyone remember the late 90s movie, Wag the Dog? It was about the President being caught in a sex scandal right before re-election. So to distract the public from the scandal, they hire a spin-doctor. This spin-doctor decides to start a fake war with Albania and hires a Hollywood producer to help. They make fake news and war footage of the fake war, even composed a patriotic theme song and t-shirts.

Read this morning about obama's blocking of Arab countries arms shipments to the Kurds to help them fight isis, and his blocking of the bombing of confirmed isis targets.

Anyway, this isis thing, and even larger the whole "war on terror" thing, makes me think of this movie, Wag the Dog. Not necessarily that it's fake, but that it's been created to distract us from other things.

Not only to distract us from other things, but for us to allow further restrictions on us...for our protection. *dripping with sarcasm*

Unintended consequences of the Iraqi army

Us arming ISIL is the "unintended consequence of the Iraqi army"?

We don't arm ANYBODY "unintentionally".
