STEADFAST ASKED FOR THIS IN ANOTHER THREAD. I guarantee you this "positive thread" won't get nearly the attention of the other negative/controversial ones....I'm not trying to stir the pot, just curious to see how many posts this will generate regarding a positive topic.
The standards I love the most are:
1. Loving Jesus - keeping His commandments (and they are not grievous)
2. Loving Others - being honest and kind, conducting myself in an ethical manner
3. Keeping the Temple of God - myself - in accordance with His word - spiritually, mentally/emotionally, physically.
Those are the Standards I see as most important. Can we have a standards thread where we do not mention clothing or hair???….Would that be possible?

The reason it is difficult to do what you ask is that we pretty much all agree on the things you mentioned. When there is great agreement, there is little discussion. The reason the other type of discussion goes on and on and on is because of disagreement and different viewpoints.
I couldn't agree with you more on what you have listed!!! :D

These are the Biblical standards. These are the ones that we should talk about and hear about in church!!!

Too late. You ruined your own thread by mentioning them.

There are some standards that I wish could change.......
Take the pound - - - why not change that to one pound equals 24 ounces, then I wouldn't have to lose weight!!!!!

The Goodness and Love of God and "Biblical Standards" don't elicit conversation????...The "Biblical standards" should be what we think of and speak of when we arise and when we walk in our houses or in the marketplaces and we lie down to sleep....What we fill our lives with can be so trivial. I come here for amusement, but I know what you mean: "Debate" can allow for some stimulating conversations/posts.

rgcraig, one pound equals 16 ounces....If a pound equaled 24 ounces, wouldn't you have to lose more weight?...Maybe I am too tired to realize what you're saying here, Sis.

If I weight 1600 oz. with the standard 1=16 oz.- that would be 100 lbs.
If I weight 1600 oz. with the new standard 1 =24 oz. I'd only weigh 66 lbs.
That's the way I was figuring it - - might be wrong though.

Hmmm.....You are thinking divide the 24 oz into the 1600 to get your weight and I was thinking look at what you said a pound should be (24 ounces, not 16 ounces) and then multiply the number of pounds you weigh and then you'd weigh more....More ounces = More pounds....You were saying more ounces in the pound would equal fewer pounds total. This is an example of looking at things in different perspectives. Are we both right?.........Could this be the case for liberals and conservatives?
I wonder who saw this your way?....Or the way I saw it?...Probably more would look at it the way you did - not sure....LOOKING BACK, I think your perspective makes more sense. Oh well, I am outta here!!

It proves the point too that it's really hard to change the paradigm because you never think of yourself weighing ounces and you'd have to do that to make what I said work......interesting!

That's good if you are wanting to weigh less, but it would stink when losing weight, like say, 42 pounds, but all you can say is you lost 3 stone!

I would tell I lost 42 pounds and if you ask how much I still weigh- I might stone you!
