Well not necessarily the UPC...I was just thinking what keeps me here in this city and in this church. I have no family here, no real close friends, not married and no job.....Im not very important to the function of this church. It got me thinking...why am I even here? I could certainly find a city that is cheaper to live in or a church with more singles my age to fellowship with.
What would you do?

I don't know anything about you, other than what you have posted...However, from this post I think I would SERIOUSLY be considering a move. Pray about it. Why not move to where your family and friends are? Don't think of yourself as not being important to the function of the church. No matter how insignificant you may feel, you are important to God and probably to the church much more than you realize. Also, seeking out a city where living is less expensive is important, too. .........I'd recommend getting on that google search engine and exploring some other places!!!

Move to Rockport, Brother. The cost of living is cheap and I will need someone to chit chat with once my only real friends in the area move. You have to drive for everything around here, the store, wal mart, best buy, you name it. But, crime is low and so is the rent. Oh, and yes, there is a UPC church right here in town, if that's your flavor. If not, there are several different ones in Owensboro, about 10 miles from here. So, when can I expect you?

LOL...not sure I want to do that. For one thing I need a town that has a dialysis unit in it. I'd like to stay in california, but most of the cheaper places are inland like Bakesfield. I have family on the east coast, though Im not keen on the weather there...hot and humid in the summer and freezing in the winter

Hmmm. I am sure that Owensboro would have what you need healthwise. There is a nationally recognized hospital there called OMHS. O-town is 10 miles from here, right across the Ohio River. Do you like being out on water in a boat? Oh, we do have change of seasons around here, but the hot humid stuff is mainly the end of July and all of August. The really cold weather is maybe Jan and Feb, but even then it usually doesn't drop below 20 degrees.

You are probably more important to the function of your church than you think you are but because of what all you mentioned, maybe God will open the door somewhere else for you.

Visalia has really exploded with growth. I'd imagine the cost of living has increased. You can get a decent hut in the ghetto.

I have never lived in a state where I had state income tax until I moved to California. With my renter's credit, I get it all back.
Pay is less.. no?
In my profession ... slightly ... but is offset by not paying state income taxes and housing is considerably lower ....

One thing you need to take into consideration is whether your disability comes from the State or Federal government. If it comes from the Fed then your monthly amount stays the same where ever you live. If it's from the State, not only would you have to reapply at whatever state you moved to, but you would also more than likely get a different amount. I know IN doesn't pay that much to those on State disability.

I know your not going to like what I'm going to say because I wouldn't like it either. But the safest thing for you to do until God answers your prayers is to stay put and wait on the Lord. It's tempting to move and try to find greener pastures but it can backfire if its not of God's leading.
Some of the great men of God of the OT had to wait on God..Abraham, Joseph, David, Moses....Be patient and wait.

And the hot humid stuff doesn't even compare to the Gulf Coast sauna...except for a couple of weeks... At least that was what I experienced last year, my first year being here...

To add to what Newman said about Abraham, Moses and the Israelites were LED by God and ended up in places without water and food but God provided. Whatever you do, let God lead you even if you find yourself in a dry wilderness, you may be right where God wants you to be.

How many days and I will apply it evenly to all three of us. You've already broken the rules...Coop and I never should have done what we done. Next time I will take your advice and instead just ban or pass out an infraction...which I did not do last time. Seriously. How about three days for all three of us? You were so right Ronzo.
