Here we go again. :depressed

"""At 12:35 a.m. Tuesday, police officers went to the Triple S. Food Mart on North Foster Drive in response to a call about a man selling music CD’s and wearing a red shirt who was said to have threatened someone with a gun, the Police Department has said. A cellphone video shot by a bystander, which was released later in the day, showed Mr. Sterling tackled by a police officer. He is then held to the ground by two officers, and one officer appears to hold a gun above Mr. Sterling’s chest. (The linked video is graphic.)

At one point someone on the video can be heard saying, “He’s got a gun! Gun!” and one officer can be seen pulling his weapon. After some shouting, what sounds like gunshots can be heard and the camera shifts away. Then more shots can be heard. The police have not said whether Mr. Sterling had a gun, though there have been reports that they recovered one from him."""

"""William Clark, the coroner of East Baton Rouge Parish, who is known as Beau, said that Mr. Sterling had died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and back."""

(Caution: both links contain either the video or links to the video of the shooting which is very disturbing)

Somehow the body cameras both officers were wearing "came loose" and did not record the picture of what happened, only the audio.

4. The Officers’ Body Cameras ‘Fell Off’ During the Incident
5. The Shooting Has Led to Protests in Baton Rouge

"""The store’s owner, Abdullah Muflahi, told The Advocate that Sterling was armed, but said he was not holding his gun or touching his pockets during the incident, the Advocate reports. The gun was later found in his pocket, Muflahi told the newspaper. Police have not confirmed his version of events."""

"""The officers have not yet been questioned.

“We give officers normally a day or so to go home and think about it,” Mckneely told The Advocate."""

I saw another video of the shooting, different angle. It's hard to say what caused the officer to open fire. It didn't appear Sterling was making a move for a weapon. He was on the ground with two officers on top of him. An officer reached in and pulled something out of his right pants pocket.

I just don't know. Doesn't look good.

And now we have another whiter officer who shot and killed a legally licensed and armed black man, after telling him to hand over his license and registration.

Both cases are incredibly sad.

What about the guy in Minnesota who was shot reaching for his license?
