It's 3:34 am and I'm up, thinking about my Dad.

My Dad is slowing down now. He is only 63 and I wish he wasn't slowing down yet. He's kinder now. He's nicer to be around now. But I feel a certain heaviness when I'm around him now-- heaviness may not be the right word, I'm not sure. Some of his ways still get under my skin.

More than anything else concerning my Dad, I wish I could bond with him. I wish I wanted to bond with him in the way he wants me to, but it don't work when I try. We are so different, but sometimes when I look into his eyes, I understand.

It's 3:34 am and I'm up, thinking about my Dad.

My Dad is slowing down now. He is only 63 and I wish he wasn't slowing down yet. He's kinder now. He's nicer to be around now. But I feel a certain heaviness when I'm around him now-- heaviness may not be the right word, I'm not sure. Some of his ways still get under my skin.

More than anything else concerning my Dad, I wish I could bond with him. I wish I wanted to bond with him in the way he wants me to, but it don't work when I try. We are so different, but sometimes when I look into his eyes, I understand.

I love the New Praise and Worship Songs, but sometimes it's good to get back to the simple songs that speaks to the soul. My daughter likes me to sing to her as I'm tucking her in at night and about 3 weeks ago this song came to my mind and I thought it was one that could teach her a lot too. I happened to be going through situations and it blessed me thoroughly and has been on my mind since.
I was a little late to church this past Sunday morning and when I got there this song was being sung as a congregational song and the Spirit of God filled that place.
