Could this forum or any Christian forum take the place of the traditional church setting as we know it? We have fellowship with other Christians here. We discuss the Bible here. We pray for each other here. We encourage and edify one another here. There are ministers who have been called of God here. I've felt the presence of the Lord while reading some of the posts here. What more could I want from a church?

Would it be pleasing to God if I just had church here and maybe sent my tithes and offerings to the owners of AFF instead of going to my usual church?

is AFF a "board-run" church??? if so, what does the Bible have to say about that??? :D Who's the official AFF pastor?? Who's the assistant pastor??? Is Thad the Kid's Choir Music Director???

How can one apply for church positions, before they all fill up??? Where can I buy CDs, or DVDs, for that matter???

Do AFF have official "church bylaws"??? Is registration acceptance onto the official AFF roll???

Just a few questions to start with.... :D

Online churches are the wave of the future.

I can't imagine AFF as an online church though. There is too much difference of opinion regarding basic doctrine.

The physical church is no different. It's just that people are not allowed be vocal about it.

Online Churches Purpose

Home / Online Church
Internet Church is a slightly different than the modern day brick and mortar churches. In these churches, only the Pastor and the Preacher/Teacher can go up to the microphone, which is safely set up on stage.

Do you ever wonder what the born-again Christians sitting in the pews think and believe?

With the advent of the Internet church, now every pew-sitting born-again can access the world via the Internet right in their home. Discovering that there is quite a difference of opinion of the meaning of scriptures among these pew-sitting born-again Christians who have their computers hooked up to the Internet. We can post things about the Bible from our homes, ask questions, give opinions and interact with other Christians all over the world 24/7/365 and not just on Sundays and Wednesdays. The denominational walls are coming down as one really don’t know what denomination you are, or even if you are in a certain denomination.

Overall, we believe that the LORD God of Israel is DELIGHTED with the Internet Church and with the electronic Bibles. Click here and give it a try.

The Online Church is designed to bring the best of the digital Online Church to your home. Join us in interactive live Church services via streaming audio, video, live Christian chatroom, live chatroom Bible studies and BBS Message Boards using interactive messages. This is not to take place of the local Church but to strengthen it. Come join us today.

To provide an alternative for traditional "church" for the following groups of people:

Christians who are "drop outs" of the Institutionalized Christian church, for whatever reason, and desire some outside stimulation for spiritual growth.

People who are "housebound" or are physically unable to attend a traditional church.

People who have tired of the traditional church environment consisting of an emphasis on: collecting money, building a pastoral empire, church building programs, and multi-layered church programs that dilute the call to know Jesus personally.

Christians who are in a church but believe they are not being fed on the truths of the Bible.

People who are single, single parents or married couples who want a method of introducing biblical teaching into their lives on a flexible schedule (one that you determine rather than the institution of church determines).

The non-Christian, a method is provided whereby they may examine the claims of Christ and either decide in a positive manner to accept what He has said about Himself in the Scriptures as truth, or to reject who He said He was and is today.

Those who may have a church in their home, or are participating in a home church setting and are looking for study materials to be used in conjunction with their home church activities.

Those in the church who have not yet been released to function under the headship of Christ without the use of intermediaries and hierarchical control.

is AFF a "board-run" church??? of course, that is what the admins and the moderators do under the influence and wisdom of the Holy Spirit!
if so, what does the Bible have to say about that??? :D the bible speaks of deacons and bishops and elders who were appointed by the laying on of hands. To make it official we should have a 'virtual' laying on of hands ceremony. Are there any apostles on board here?

Who's the official AFF pastor?? There were many teachers at the church of Antioch. I think we will have to rotate pastors to meet the needs of all the fellowship. A UC, a moderate, and a liberal chosen by the vote of the fellowship and then submitted for approval to the board. Acts 6:3

Who's the assistant pastor??? Do we really need one?

Is Thad the Kid's Choir Music Director??? Thad has a problem with his temper, but if he can get that under control, I don't see why not.

How can one apply for church positions, before they all fill up??? Much prayer and fasting would be involved in this by the board and those who wish to fill a position. Seek the will of God. Is there a prophet here? Acts 13:2

Where can I buy CDs, or DVDs, for that matter??? Go to YOU-Tube.

Do AFF have official "church bylaws"??? Did they have such a thing in the Bible?

Is registration acceptance onto the official AFF roll??? yes, of course we prefer those who profess to be Apostolic ( is there a concensus on this term) but anyone is welcome since our goal is to convert the lost and strengthen the body.

Just a few questions to start with.... :D :club

Ummm, I hate to be the one to have to point this out...............

But usually a church is at least governed by a group of people who pretty much agree with each other, even if the whole congregation doesn't.

The problem I see here is that who is going to be the governing body? If it's the UC, then the Libs are not gonna be ok. And if it's the libs, then UC's won't be happy.

Sorry to be the wet blanket. :ernie

:lol Yes, we can set up automatic deductions from your bank account using PayPal. We will contact your employment each payday to see how much you made, then we will deduct 10% + a simple $10 handling fee. (FOR ME!)

The tithe will be put to good use, as we will be creating a 30 second TV ad for national TV to attract more souls (and their money!) to AFF!! :)

But I know there are some out there that consider this type of thing an acceptable substitute for the traditional church.

Definitely not the Methodists who built that one! Maybe BOOM could take the lead on this one or to be more in line with the Bible, we should seek God for the men he would have to build our new 3D sanctuary. Are there any like Moses here?

Exodus 36:1 Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded. 2 And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:

No.

But for some this is their "church fellowship". The thread has taken a light-hearted attitude, but I think it could change if those who rely on the fellowship they find on the net would speak out. I'd like a more serious discussion on this subject. The fellowship we have here has its place but I believe we should fellowship with other believers locally, in person, if we are going to obey the instruction of Paul to forsake not the assembling of ourselve together.

We will have to have a 'pastoral office'. A place to take matters to in prayer and privacy. Kind of like the closed door forum the moderators enjoy. If that doesn't resolve the issue, then the whole of AFF will chose those least esteemed in the forum to judge the matter. We will have to set up a Christian court forum as well. Hopefully this will never be used and no threads will have to be started there. The Bible has direction for all types of squabbles.

Welcome to the DIYC
(Do It Yourself Church)

Now that you have repented (or least that's what you said) it's time to get baptized (not that you HAVE to submit to water baptism, but hey why not!) so go down to the pool and duck yourself or shower :ernie (sprinkle... Whatever floats your boat. :D).

Be sure and don't say ANYTHING when baptizing, you wouldn't want to offend someone.

Oh yeah those tithes?

Send them to TBN.

No need for a preacher at the DIYC.
