View Full Version : Why can't you edit your own posts?

I was wondering why a user could not edit thier own posts? Is there a reason for this?
I had a post I was wanting to edit, because I had made a similar post to it, but I could not find an edit button!
Also, do all posts have to be approved by a moderator? Or just ones with links?
I am new here, so I do not know why this is so. If anyone can explain this, it would help me understand. Thanks.

You can edit any post for up to 120 mins. If you still need a post edited, contact any Admin Team member.

No, not gonna happen. It was set that way back on NFCF and if we cannot think before we post, the post stands. It was thought some would not post in haste. I am guilty of not always thinking and sometimes my fingers type something entirely different than I was expressing.
Again, Admin can edit posts for any user who have have a grammatical error, or have murdered the thing all together. We sadly cannot restore grey cells for those like me who are missing a few sometimes. :tiphat

I was thinking more of needing to edit a post because of bad grammar, or mis-spelling or because of a phrase put in the wrong place which makes what you're trying to say less clear. I hate going back and reading something I've written and there be errors in grammar or spelling, etc.
Do you know who many times I edit a post after initially hitting "submit"? It would be the majority of the times I post. :o Thank the good Lord and whoever set the time limit that we at least have that amount of time! :)
That happened in a post I made last evening. Renda brought it to my attention and thankfully, I was still within the 120 minute edit time and so fixed it so that it was more coherent.
It's not a big deal at all. But you know what the Scripture saith .......
You have not because you ask not.
:D ;) :D

I saw that, and in those instance we will help you if needed. I belong to a board where you have but THREE mins to edit. I really really really proof there before I hit submit.
