My dad served in Vietnam, and had "17 confirmed kills". The "confirmed kills" were found in the AA reports, witnessed by a fellow soldier or his Lt or Sgt. There is no Army form that says "Here's how many kills you have so far. 20 more to go to Level Up". Or whatever.

As the article that EB posted notes, the whole idea of "confirmed kills" is something existing primarily in NON-veteran fantasy land. My dad only talked about his "kills" to me and one or two other trusted friends who were combat vets. He NEVER bragged about it to other people unless they got in his face and then he'd just let them know he's killed better men than they are so they need to step back right quick. And he never warned anyone twice about anything. And that's all I'm gonna say about that.

Yes we did. Sunday morning was at the home church. Pastor exhorted and ended up having an altar call in the middle of service. Many lives were touched including some newer folks.

Sunday night we preached for a home missions pastor in a neighboring town. Awesome move. God changed my message right before service started. Holy ghost fell and again, the spirit moved. I'm believing God did many miracles last night.

Next week we're preaching for the same home missions pastor. And then after that, we are going to southern Indiana for a 2 week revival. Pray that God moves in every service, and many new people are brought in to the Kingdom!

While he and I have many differences, I have never seen him lie.
He does pull out many personal references, but they are not unbelievable.

When did I say that? You have quotation marks. Please quote me, or admit I never said that.

Esaias thinks that there is some kind of magic point system that I should have to provide evidence for. That is not only stupid, but it doesn't exist. You confirm targets destroyed. And yes, there are dead. But there is no running tally.

I'm sure I could get documentation on a lot of things involving my military service. I'm not going to rush down to he VA and try to get copies of documents so that I can load them up to this forum just to appease Esaias. You are correct. But the whole situation is that Aquila brought up the "confirmed kills" which he brought up in the beard thread. He makes out that because of his killing people therefore he can wear a beard. This is what he was called on, and I have never met anyone who has seen action who can talk so lightly of it. Then when he is challenged he blows a fit.


I'm relatively sure that I'm the only MAN on this thread with a confirmed body count.

When contemplating Hell, I think my beard is the least of my worries.

I was concerned that on an Apostolic forum, it seemed that Apostolics were being encouraging at the expense of being truthful.

I SHOULD HAVE been more kind.

I brought up the evasive nature of your answers and how I found it deeply troubling-- not because I was trying to be nosey or cruel, but because I know personally and I have seen in others when Christians make life-changing decisions without the input of Pastors and close mentors.

However, and you said this, I don't know you-- and I don't.

For all I know, you had a Pastor and you were part of a thriving church in La and you and your Pastor did discuss everything and after prayer and with guidance, you made your decision to move you and your family across the country.

Maybe that is what happened.
