I hated flan as a kid. Didn’t try it again until into my mid to late 20’s.

Does she make choco-flan?

Cake was outta the box. Cookies will be scratch. Ran into a problem. Grandmother does not have a mixer. So mixing the butter sticks... hmm. Maybe I can melt them. No. No. Don’t think it will mix well when I have to add the dry ingredients.

No, just the traditional.
She also makes home-made Horchata!
We do have hispanics in our church and family, but usually they like her cooking better than theirs!

I love horchata. When I was a young kid we’d travel from Farming Capital to San Fernando to visit friends. If we didn’t somehow end up in Santa Monica we would almost always land at Broadway in Los Angeles. They’d get me what they called rice water. I loved that stuff. I haven’t had it since a kid. I think it’s like horchata made with water, not milk..

Ok, LADIES. I didn’t realize the volume would be so much with all ingredients combined. Can I pour the cookie dough into a pan and make it like a cake?

Most women don’t know about the silicone baking mat. Was the last one at Walmart. I did make these. My uncle’s gf is here. She thought it would melt. :lol

Totally awesome you knew about that!! Most people line the pans with foil so they don't have to wash anything afterward. :yourock

I read something once about how fathers should teach their daughters at least three basic things with autos:

How to check the oil
How to change a tire
How to check the brake pads

That is not a cookie sheet? I should know this. Took an advanced foods class/elective in high school. It was mostly baking (scratch). We had to memorize the names of all sorts of utensils and other stuff. That's a strainer? Nah, bruh. It's a colander. :happydance

I took a vanilla on vanilla cake (box). Everyone got a piece. Complimented that the cake was moist, not dry.

The dark chocolate-milk chocolate-white morsel and walnut cookies were a hit... to those that tasted them. The kids hid the cookies. We thought they ate them all. They brought them out after most of the people left. The brother that hosts cell (I forgot to mention, I took the goodies to cell group) was upset because everyone wanted to taste the cookies. LOL. Those of us that remained laughed it off... kids being kids.

Well, his mother did get to taste one before the kids hid them. She loved it. "He can cook!??" :lol

I told the brother and his wife to tell all the single women at the church that I can cook. There was laughter. Then I said, "No, never mind. I don't want to get one that doesn't cook." :thumbsup

I'm going to take a batch next week of chocolate chip and walnut.
