Were you raised in this Truth, or did you come to it later?

Later, at the age of 16.

Can you really be raised in it, or do you need a revelation?

Every time I hear testimonies from people that were raised in the truth, there is a point in time when they make the decision to truly follow the Lord.

Both... happened to me... raised in and always believed it... but didn’t even know I needed a revelation of it because I had no doubt that it was true... but something changed one day in my late teens when I was just studying the word and got the revelation of it!

I came to Jesus name when I confessed with my mouth his lordship and believed in my heart God raised him from the dead. Based on that confession, God forgave my sins in the waters of baptism and then saved me by washing to regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

It would be nice if the title of the thread was a complete thought.

Received the Holy Ghost at the age of 9, backslid until I was 18 moved to a different state to get away from all my influence and started my walk back to Jesus. Been saved now for over 17 years.

I was raised as a heathen, repented and got the Holy Ghost in April of 1991, got baptised in Jesus name later that week.

I came to the person of Jesus in 1974 and received the Holy Ghost. Came to be water baptized in his name 1978.

Interesting comment. I suppose the answer to your question would fall entirely on one's perspective. I would say that an individual could be raised in and taught the full Truth of the Gospel, but yet it still has to become personal to that person. They are technically raised in the Church, but haven't personally become part of the Church until conviction draws them to repentance, baptism in Jesus' name, and the infilling of the Spirit, evidence by speaking in other tongues.

If that answers your question.

I think it's quite complete. I was curious as to when each of you come to the knowledge of Jesus' Name, and when you decided to embrace it as the fullness of Truth.
