Trying to Find a church

I need help to find a church that's conservative and holiness. I live in south jersey and was hoping people could give me tips from their experiences to help me.

I can't give you a reference from personal experience, but you could use the UPCI church locator to find a church near you to visit and see how you like it.

I don't know of a single Apostolic church in that area, but I would certainly try the UPC or maybe even the ALJC websites to see if either of them have any churches in your area.

Hey, you could always just Google Apostolic Holiness churches in Jersey. I once Googled a church for a guy my Daddy was trying to get into a good Apostolic church. My Pastor called and talked to their pastor.

Its hard to find a Church to be in agreement with on everything. Trust me:highfive

Back to the drawing board. I would guess there are a lot of Apostolic Churches in Philadelphia.

Thanks for the help, I'll look into this Gino Jennings guy and that search tool is pretty useful- although I wish it wasn't limited to only UPCI.

Is there a particular fellowship you are interested in? Unfortunately I don’t know of any conservative churches in that area. Might be able to check the WPF site too. Some of their churches are moderate to conservative.

Not sure anymore I think that now a days that is considered a UC church. The marker has really moved the last several years lol.

Gino has said some things I believe, such as New Birth Baptism and the Oneness of God. But the dude also has some extreme and crazy beliefs. And he hates other Oneness Pentecostals such as the UPC and has stated people should leave the UPC. So I don't hold him in that high regard as do others on here.

Men are not allowed to give their jacket to a sister if she is cold. Nor can a man give her his gloves.

You're also prohibited from any profession which requires the sale or handling of a firearm -- and prohibited from having any in your personal, private possession.

Ministers in his church aren't allowed to reference, quote, teach or even read any book not pre-approved as Holy Scriptures. Doing so will result in suspension from teaching. Second offense will result in expulsion from the church.

There's a lot more you can read in their by-laws.

I have had more than one Pastor who knocked the UPC. My first Apostolic Pastor said they were a bunch of "loose devils".

Have you read the UPC by laws lately? Men are not allowed to serve in the military EXCEPT as non combatants. So to me that would be consistent with such a doctrine. Why forbid men from fighting for their country but they can defend their own lives or families?

I never said I agree with his by laws. I just said they are no worse than the by laws I see (standards) that many Apostolics propose.

However in FOUNDATION doctrine I have a lot of respect for Gino. Not just Oneness and Acts 2:38 like so many but yes the truth of the coming of Jesus after the tribulation and the resurrection of the dead not merely BODIES of the dead puts his doctrine closer to that of Jesus Christ than most. Then add the headcovering and take away some of the by laws and his Church can be a good example.
