View Full Version : 24 hour church doors open?

Could this be the answer to the dilemma churches are facing with shut downs because of their large crowds of people?

Open the doors and let people come and go, to pray, worship, whatever. Have a minister on staff at all hours of the day when the doors are open. This way there are no large crowds. People can come and go, and keep their 6-feet distance. Perhaps old messages, services etc could be played on the screen. Just an idea.

Sounds great. Open Church meetings. People could have a chance to fellowship as well as develop a strategy to minister to people.

Not to be a conspiracy theorist. But just to inject a little bit of information. The common flu is estimated to kill between 290,000 and 650,000 people per year, globally. In the USA since 2010, between 12,000 and 61,000 deaths can be blamed on the flu. Schools are closed every year in the USA, because of the flu.

Not to diminish anyone’s sickness or loss, but Corona seems nearly warm and fuzzy by comparison, so far. I still say,

“The greatest thing to fear, is fear itself.”

Why do we see that, yet so many don’t.

Why was Zombie comic books the rage in the 50s? Why were slasher films so popular in the late 60s and 70s? People enjoy the end, they love being scared to death. They don't like logic, they don't like facts, they like fairy dust sprinkled in their eyes in the morning and washed out with the devil at night.
When the movie Jaws came out in the 80s people stopped going into the water at the beach. Even in freshwater lakes. When Alfred Hitchcock's movie Psycho came out some women stop taking showers. These are movies, fiction, but people want the make believe to be true, and therefore continue to allow their imagination to run away with them. Therefore since the media no longer gives a hoot about journalism of any kind, they entertain through embellishments. UPCI preacher dies from coronavirus, but was totally healthy? But who gave his health stats to the news? His pastor? Not a Medical Examiner, not an autopsy report, but his pastor. Yet, no one will venture to enquire to want more evidence. Evidence of a pre existing condition, or what did kill the man. No, we want him to be dead through the coronavirus. Hence no other proof will be needed. It's flu season, and it was pretty quite around Fort Lauderdale until the inhabitants figured out that it was flu season and coronavirus is a flu strain. They left their cells and are back to walking up and down the tier or out in the prison yard. Please, no one get upset with me, I can't understand why anyone would want to live this way. I'm not worrying about people getting sick. My major focus as the stupid minister in Fort Lauderdale that people are going to lose their JOBS!!!!! Their businesses!!!!

My husband visited a church one time when he was out of town. Had no idea they were Brantamites from the name on the door. And that is just what they were doing, playing old Brantham tapes. He couldn't get outta there fast enough!

It is a new virus. The flu has been around for untold numbers of years. That is why it is called the novel coronavirus.

But I agree with you. Why the panic with this virus? Is there something the officials know about it that they are not telling the general public? I absolutely think so. I continue to dig for information, but it is hard to know what to believe.

Very interesting article. Thanks for sharing.

The current coronavirus we are dealing with is able to live much longer on surfaces than the typical flu virus can.

Adding to the dilemma, healthy people are shedding the virus unknowingly. Most people once they get the flu, stay home because they know they are sick. With this virus, people may not even get sick, yet be spreading it. So that is another concerning factor about this novel virus.
