TV... or maybe a KJV. Not sure yet?

Which model of version do you recommend?

And

Why?

If you’d read Louis L’amour you wouldn’t need a TV, and if you read the KJV you wouldn’t want one!!:happydance

Never heard of a TV (as far as Bible versions go). I recommend a KJV in a font size that's easy on your eyes. I prefer no margin notes or cross references or at least as minimal as possible.

I have found that construction quality of Bibles has deteriotated the last 2 decades. I had gotten a nice decent Bible from Holman or Zondervan, it was a 45 dollar large print Bible. The cover fell off within about 8 months. Got another, slightly more expensive one. It did the same thing within 12 months. Meanwhile my daughter has one we got her when she was a kid, almost 20 years ago. It has been unbelievably well used, tons of notations made in it, got lost in a garage for awhile, found again, been used almost daily for like 15 years... And it's held together fine. It was like 10 or 15 bucks when it was bought.

Lol. Good one. I want to watch the news. :lol

A small tv cost less than a laptop. A lot less. Ahhh, idea. Pawn shop laptop. Hmm. Thanks for helping me think this through.

Ok, now back to the KJV. Is there one that you recommend? I have one that’s going on 20 yrs. The cover is in terrible condition. I need to replace it or get it worked on. I can blow a few bills on repair... or shelve it and get a new one.

Thoughts?

Anyone?

Just depends on your taste ... I have a Nelson, Thompson chain and apostolic study Bible... I like them all.... but the Nelson is my go too the others I will more use for studying. I will be getting the one the WPF just put out. I heard it had some good commentary.

Forget the TV. A waste of your money and time!

KJV of course, I like the NKJV with the commentary, it is really helpful.

I have one that was falling apart and I used superglue to reconnect it to the spine because there are so many notes and bible study links that make it invaluable.

Mine was a gift from my mother. I may just shelf it. It’s a Thomas Nelson 544B. I WANT to have it restored with real leather. But for the price I can buy a “good” bible or a few cheaper ones.

Watching the news in this day and age will definitely NOT help you unwind!

WPF study Bible here-

I have one. It’s nice. I’d say 5% of my Bible reading is in it. I have had 3 or 4 Thompson Chains that I really liked. The Bible I use most right now is one that I picked up when my wife were out of town and I had forgotten my Bible a few years back. Its nothing special but I love the size and the feel of it. Also have put a lot of notes in it. I feel like I can get a few more years out of it. Will be sad to give it.

I would say get a Premier Study Bible for reference, then go into a Bible book store and start picking up Bibles till you find one that you like the feel and size of. That’s probably the one you will read and carry the most.

I’m definitely a KJV man, but I also enjoy the Amplified as commentary and reference.

As for helping you unwind...I’d start with the Sackett series. Some great reading right there!

I don’t like westerns or fiction.
