Today's history lesson. Please carefully note the wording of Virginia's ratification of the Constitution:
WE the Delegates of THE PEOPLE of Virginia, duly elected in pursuance of a recommendation from the General Assembly, and now met in Convention, having fully and freely investigated and discussed the proceedings of the Federal Convention, and being prepared as well as the most mature deliberation hath enabled us, to decide thereon, DO in the name and in behalf of THE PEOPLE of Virginia, declare and make known that the powers granted under the Constitution, BEING DERIVED FROM THE PEOPLE of the United States MAY BE RESUMED BY THEM whensoever the same shall be perverted to their injury or oppression,.....We the said Delegates, in the name and in behalf of THE PEOPLE of Virginia, do by these presents assent to, and ratify the Constitution recommended on the seventeenth day of September, one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven, by the Foederal Convention for the Government of the United States; hereby announcing to all those whom it may concern, that the said Constitution is binding upon the said People, according to an authentic copy hereto annexed, in the words following:"
It is clear that Virginia's ratification contained a clarification that the people of the States were the source of any compliance to the Constitution and that the people of those states could recall the ratificationthat made the Constitution binding on their state.
Fast forward to 1861:
"An Ordinance To repeal the ratification of the Constitution of the United States of America, by the State of Virginia, and to resume all the rights and powers granted under said Constitution.
THE PEOPLE of Virginia, in their ratification of the Constitution of the United States of America, adopted by THEM in Convention, on the twenty-fifth day of June in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight, having declared that the powers granted under the said Constitution, were derived from THE PEOPLE of the United States, and might be resumed whensoever the same should be perverted to their injury and oppression; and the Federal Government having perverted said powers, not only to the injury of THE PEOPLE of Virginia, but to the oppression of the Southern slaveholding States.
Now, therefore, we THE PEOPLE of Virginia, do declare and ordain,That the ordinance adopted by THE PEOPLE of this State in Convention, on the twenty-fifth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight, whereby the Constitution of the United States of America was ratified; and all acts of the General Assembly of this State ratifying or adopting amendments to said Constitution, are hereby repealed and abrogated; that the Union between the State of Virginia and the other States under the Constitution aforesaid is hereby dissolved, and that the State of Virginia is in the full possession and exercise of all the rights of sovereignty, which belong and appertain to a free and independent State. And they do further declare,That said Constitution of the United States of America is no longer binding on any of the Citizens of this State."
When this voluntary union of states no longer functions as the Framers intended, and its infrastructure is used by a fanatical minority to suppress the people, it no longer binding on any state. It is time to re-constitute the Union among states who revere the Founders and the republic they gave us. States dominated by Marxists need not apply for admission in the new United States.

Yes, the states ought to seccede from DC (this will not dissolve the Union, by the way, because the Union was created via the Articles of Confederation which preceded the Constitution) and reinstitute a new federal Congress. Failing that, Texas at least ought to secede and reconstitute the Republic.
However, you and I both know neither one is going to happen. None of us have the power and influence to make it happen, either. Therefore what "we" really ought to do is quit the wishful thinking and instead focus on what CAN actually be done:
1. Realise we're in a transition phase into a China-style authoritarian system (Chinese-style communism/socialism).
2. Build your family to be as independent of the system as possible. This means independence as far as finances, health, education, etc etc. It also means transitioning your family into a more Biblically-directed life.
3. Build networks with other aware Christians and lay the foundations for a future alternative society. The less people need the existing system and provide their own socio-political-economic structures the better (see 1 Cor 6 for an example).
4. Avoid large politically oriented crowds unless you are there to conduct psychological operations or information gathering operations. If you don't know how to do that properly then STAY OUT OF THE MESS.
5. Keep track of who you know and their political leanings. Keep any leftists, liberals, or conservative statists at more than arm's length. Careful what you say: Loose lips sink ships.
6. Expect the unexpected.
7. Never compromise on the Word and the Gospel, even if it kills you. Remember what Jesus said in Mark 8:35.

Studying Texas' demographics, I'd say it is more likely that a Mexican majority will secede and rejoin Mexico. Of course, then the leftist scholars will begin echoing Jefferson Davis and John C. Calhoun on a State's right to secede. If a white majority state tries it, there will be a different standard.

You are probably right. My bad. Instead, the Mexican majority in the whole southwest will secede and form the country of Atzlan.

Your idiocy and leftist brainwashing are showing. Seriously. Do people like you not have another card to play other than the race card? FWI, I am married to a Mexican. Kind of strange for a "racist" to marry outside of his race, huh?
But who cares? People like you are going to call people like me "racist" no matter what we say or don't say. As for my claims of re-conquistadores...

It was a joke. But I’m an idiot brainwashed by the left, now.
Just another day on AFF. :coffee2
I know what the maps look like. I don’t know anyone who holds to Raza ideology. Not-a-one. Most I know are conservative... And the treatment we get from the liberal Latinos... “Tio Tómas.” “Sell out.” Etc. An emotional response, because no one wants to discuss facts. All they know is that their Abuela told them that Democrats are for the poor, republicans are for the rich.
Anyway...

The demographics have already resulted in a de facto secession in many commu nities. They generally do their thing and exist as a sort of parallel society. Kind of like what I was talking about in my earlier post that identified actual practical courses of action. Which, as usual for AFF, has been ignored in favor of interpersonal histrionics about abstract nonsense that nobody here has any influence over.

I am in the process now of searching for a way to leave the state of Florida for a location where I will be less likely to have to use force to defend my family. Did you see what happened in Missouri with the gated community and that couple in front of the mansion? No, I plan on living the rest of my days around a bunch of mountaineers, a place where the lazy BLM/ANTIFA crowd would not exert the physical energy it would take to traverse. It's just common sense to me.

According to the polls, Biden is winning, the House will stay Democrat, and the Senate very likely to turn blue.
If that actually becomes a reality, we would see things like the Equality Act being passed, and direct attacks on church organizations for not hiring LGTB+ pastors and such. These people not only want rights, but also the head of all of those that oppose them.
I just saw this today: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-biden-republicans-exclus/exclusive-hundreds-of-george-w-bush-administration-officials-to-back-biden-group-says-idUSKBN24253R
Every time I think of that, I remember this passage:
The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect.
The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
The plans of His heart to all generations.
Psalms 33:10-11
The Lord is still in control :thumbsup

I have an M.A. in History and am currently a public high school teacher. However, I want to get out of public education. I'd rather teach at a collegiate level which can be difficult without an M.A. I would remain in the public school system if I could be a dean.
I would also love to pastor. But that is difficult to do in the UPC. There is no systematic way of filling empty pulpits. If one wants to pastor, the Southern Baptists will find you a church tomorrow, if you are a licensed minister in good standing. Too much nepotism in the UPC.

I don't trust polls period. There are so many ways to manipulate them, that they're completely worthless in my opinion.

Why do you need to "given" a church to pastor? Why not just start a church yourself?
Start from 0. Build a church.
Yep, exactly.

Work on the Ph.D., my husband has one and teaches college online to supplement our income.
As far as Pastoring, start a home bible study group and see where it goes from there.
My first Pastor started a home bible study group that grew to a church of 500+ people.

I am starting to think my landing in NW North Carolina was fortunate. Seems no antifa here, a few folks making untaxed alcohol...but they seem unlikely to care for DC and the Idiocracy as well as anyone.
I don't like Trump,. I hope one of my preacher freind's dream comes true that he is converted while in a second term. I think the right /left narrative is a constructed design, and all that have power in this country were granted it by more people other than the voters. And the masses are too stupid to elect actual people of character. Seems I moved to the correct area for people of similar thinking.
