Anyone remember back in the 80's when this was a HOT topic among church folk? They played LPs backwards so that you could hear the message, and they also showed how advertisers used 'hidden' artwork in their photos to show nudity and such...

We were in Salt Lake at Bro. Gill's church on vacation in 1982, when he had a seminar on this subject. The teacher was a Dawn Snerd, from Dover, Del. Has anyone known of her, or heard about her lately?

Don and I were talking last week about some of the points she made, and he has never forgotten some of the things she spoke on during her seminar...

Just curious...

I think it is a tremendous marketing gimmick. They probably sold more records due to the publicity about the "hidden" stuff than they would have otherwise... and they probably leaked the "secret" themselves.

I haven't kept up with the latest music but I remember the hidden 13th track on Nirvana's Nevermind album... it was basically 10 minutes of dead silence after the 12th song ended and then another song started up (not sure if I can call their screaming a song, but you know what I mean. lol.)

Yes, I remember. I also remember that when all that was coming out, that several churches around here held record burnings, and thousands of dollars worth of albums went up in smoke.

This story reminds me of when I was in the 5th grade..
Sinéad O'Connor ripped a picture of Pope John Paul II on stage one of her concerts.
After that the Catholics began to burn her music and fan garb.

I'm fairly sure that the "I'm A Pentecostal Song" has a secret message in it...

This is what I got out of it when I played it backwards:

we're taking over the world, one mindless nitwit at a time...
we're taking over the world...
all in due time...

LOL

There is a guy in AZ named Sam Moranto, he sold these tapes with like classical boring music on them. But, he would place sublimminal messages on them (him talking over the music) and he claimed he could cure obesity, help your body heal, and in one case basicly claimed to cure cancer...............

This thread just reminded me of him.........

And I did look at the Dio album upside down and the way the artistry was it spelled devil. Don't know if it was intentional or not but it was there.
