Is that the guy that wanted asylum?
—-
Yep, pretty sure it’s him. Think he’s connected to the NAR reprobates.
I saw a video of baptisms- they didn’t use Jesus’ name, or the titles. Was odd.

I watched a lot of it. I have always liked this guy what I have seen of him.
The Pastor told him to be nice and work with the kids and you can preach once a year.

So what makes NAR reprobates?
Torben preaches immersion in Jesus name...Ive heard them say "Down with Christ, Up with Christ" and there was one guy out of Sweden I heard using the titles but as far as Torben I havent had issues with the way he baptises.
So do you not agree with the 5 Fold Ministry being established in the modern church? Whats your particular complaint against their beliefs? Never heard of them by name until you mentioned them but there are parts of their belief systems scattered all throughout Pentecost.

Ok...you gave names of preachers...I didnt ask for reprobates that preach...I asked what about the DOCTRINE is worthy of being described that way.
Ive heard the name Bill Johnson and know little else about him...Todd White couldnt hide the mess that is his life from a Helen Keller clone convention.
Im not trying to be a jerk and pick a fight...I just sincerely would like your view on the mainstream doctrine divorced from individual preachers off in weirdness.

Not just discipleship as seen in mainstream denominations but release to obey Christs commands as to the signs that would follow believers.
I hope to God he keeps shaking and disturbing comfortable people...he spoke about America being called "Land of the free...home of the brave"
He said when he got to America he was shocked,"Who is free? Who is brave?"
I know Ive definitely been challenged.

The New Apostolic Reformation is a networking of people who are attempting to convince churches that they need to "be under the NAR umbrella of genuine modern day apostles". In other words, it's what in the business world is called a "roll-up". Guys (and women apparently) set themselves up as "apostles" and then convince pastors to place their churches under their "apostolic covering". It's a money scam and an attempt at monopolising as many churches as possible.
Heresy comes along with it as well, because a LOT of these folks are either Word-Faith people or "New Wine" charismatics.

Do you not believe in "Modern Day Apostles"? If not, are the other 4 offices dissolved as well?

I don't believe the NAR is apostolic in ANY sense of the term. I do believe in apostles, in the church today. They are generally known today as "missionaries" or "church planters".
The apostle Paul refused to even attempt to exercise any authority over any congregation he himself wasn't instrumental in founding. The modern NAR apostles don't "found" anything except gullible pastors who sign up to start tithing to them and "submitting" to them.
BTW, it's not "5 fold" it's four: pastors and teachers is a combined term describing one office.

Ok, so submitting to any top down heiarchical power structure administrated by those not directly and personally involved in the creation of that work is unbiblical?
Was Timothy an Apostle?
Did he establish the work in Ephesus or was he placed there by another?

I doubt Torben is associated with Bill Johnson or Todd White. He certainly wasn’t years ago when I went through his videos online. He was very strong Jesus Name and New Birth. He abhorred modern churches which is why I doubt that.

That doesn’t sound like something Torben would be associated with.
Maybe he’s changed. I haven’t followed him in years.

I don’t believe that is what Esaias was referring to. In the Greek manuscript pastor is the teacher.

Yes.
In that case, you can also have a pastor that doesn’t teach.

A pastor's duty is to feed and guard (take heed/pay attention) the sheep and lambs of God's flock, and to be given to hospitality, be lover's of good men, and etc., meaning, having folks over for food and fellowship and the sincere milk of the Word. You cannot have a shepherd that doesn't teach, or a teacher that doesn't shepherd, in this capacity.
The folks who preach and teach in a local assembly that are often called pastors are not. They are prophets, generally speaking, unless they also fulfill the role of pastor as stipulated above.
