The whole reason for the lockdown is to totally destroy the small business economy. Then the big boys, amazon and etc, will make billions being the suppliers for the nation.

They have already decimated the trucking industry, now it is the small mom and pop stores. They are going away.

Interesting, especially since they are Democrats? You all have a female democrat mayor. How was your shut down?

Fortunately, it wasn't as bad as in other places, and didn't last for too long. Our store never shut down, though. The main issue right now is the city mask "mandate", which I routinely ignore whenever possible - meaning: whenever I'm not at work. Even at work, I only wear it when I have to while dealing with customers.

What kind of store is it? Are you the owner?

It's a computer store, and no, I just work there. We do have on advantage, namely that we fill a niche no one else around us does. We're pretty much the last place within several hundred miles (namely Micro Center in Kansas City) you can go to buy parts in shop, instead of online. I've heard there's a couple small shops in Omaha, but they don't keep much inventory on hand.
Best Buy has parts, but they lost several customers to us by closing their doors and only letting people pick up instead of browse inside. They don't even carry the kind of selection that we do, despite being considerably larger than we are.
It helps to have an angle in business, and this is ours.

How is TD Bank son Pete Ricketts during the whole COVIDness? How is Leirion Gaylor Baird as a mayor?

I have no idea how Rickets is doing. I heard he caught C19, but haven't heard anything else beyond that. As for Baird, there's talk going around of a recall vote, which I'm all in favor of. She's the reason we have this stupid mask mandate to begin with. Rickets advised against it, and she did it anyway claiming some special "exception" that Lincoln has from the rest of the state (don't ask me what that exception is, I couldn't begin to tell you).

Technically, we never had a "lock down". Some businesses got shut down, but thankfully it didn't last long. I've heard rumors of another shut down, but nothing concrete.

They've only just begun the signature collection a few days ago, which will be going on for at least three weeks. It will depend on whether they get enough votes for the recall.

How do you believe she handled the quarantine?
Even before the mask mandate went into effect, she was doing poorly. We had some minor riots during the whole "Floyd" nonsense, and she did nothing to stop them from burning part of our downtown.
She's also used the police to shut down a local business that was in conflict with her over the mask policy. Basically, they were telling people that they wouldn't question people if they didn't/couldn't wear one (ironically, the "mandate" actually allows for this).
The kicker was that four of the five members of the city council, voted to let her appoint a HHS director without the typical voter input. They ignored the bylaws of the city, doing an end run around the will of the voters.
