Why would that be necessary? It is not the church you attend that saves. Rather, it is the blood of Jesus!:bliss

Do you mean that you wouldn't jump to conclusions if I introduced you to a male "Baptist" friend of mine? You wouldn't be able to judge him by his looks; only that I called him "Baptist"!

I would certainly assume that he adhered to that doctrine if he was identified as such but it would not send me into fits of tract slamming and a doctrinal frenzy!
Since we are speaking hypothetically, if he had fulfilled the gospel and still claimed to be a Baptist I am convinced that you would introduce him in that manner and it would not be an issue! :)

Well, I have been baptized, so I guess I am a baptist...and I believe I am saved. :D

I had a dear friend who's family left an Apostolic church and starting attending a Baptist church. I couldn't believe it!
Well...my wife brought it to my attention that this whole household had received the Holy Ghost and had been baptised in Jesus name. They had fullfilled Acts:38 and were only changing churches. You can't unring the Acts 2:38 bell, can you?

If he could, having had the holy ghost, afterward be satisfied in a baptist church, he was backslid on God

Nope, it is effective and once born you will never be unborn no matter where you choose to hang your hat!

I would say he is not backslid from God, as he is as involved in the church as ever before. The church he attends doesn't use the gifts of the spirit in worship services, but he still speaks in tongues privately.

Now HERE's the biggie!
I couldn't believe it, but he agreed to be re-baptised in the titles to become a member! Does the last baptism erase the previous baptism? I'm struggling with this!

Hey Pianoman!
Is your name written in the Bald Big-Headed Kid's book of life?
Are wearing a yellow and black striped robe?

Nice attitude porky.
The man asked a question, and just because you did not like my answer you start hurling insults.

I understand your consternation. I would fear that this is symptomatic of a much more grave condition and a real problem in his relationship with his heavenly father! The status of his sonship will not change but I certainly fear that his inheritance is at risk.
Tough situation and I will be praying for your guidance as you arrange an Apostolic intervention!:heeheehee :heeheehee :tease

Ronzo,
I apologize for offending you. I am not going to get into any more battles with you (tonight anyway lol). I never intended to go as far as I have.
Forgive me.

Correction John was NOT a Baptist he was THE Baptist like Jesus was not A Christ but THE Christ.
Jesus is not going to rapture a "Baptist church!"
They are NOT called by His name.

Can't vote. Option isn't there. "Can't say, I ain't their judge...Jesus is!"
