Bumping this cause tonight is the first night of the two nights of concerts open to the public.
Christ Church Choir premeires it's new CD project tonight. They will be singing with a full orchastra which is always cool. They sound awesome with the normal brass section but adding in strings is always a treat.

IMO, the best Pentecostal choir by far.

I wish I had read this earlier. My daughter was in Nashville thursday night and she would have loved to have seen and heard the choir and orchestra. She is on her way to the Crabb Family Explosion in Cleveland, Tennessee, Friday and Saturday nights.

Is the Christ Church in Nashville a oneness pentecostal type church...do they also preach the acts 2:38 salvation message? Also, who is pastor there? Just wondering?
Isnt that choir the one that backed Dolly Parton when she sang "He's Alive" on TV quite a while ago? I remember watching that and felt the Holyghost so strongly. Awesome choir. Best version of He's Alive of any I have ever heard.

Did they video this?
They used to shoot video when the choir did cd premiers at the Opry House.

Christ Church was of the PCI beliefs of the UPCI. They pulled out of the UPC in the late 70's. Pastor L.H. Hardwick is head of this 7,000+ member church in Nashville.
They baptize in Jesus name, but don't teach that water baptism or Holy Ghost baptism are essential to salvation.

Pianoperson,
I don't think they left the UPC until 1986.
I enjoyed the concert last night also. I looked for women in "bundage" to see if we had any UPC / OTP visitors but really didn't see any.
I saw one attractive young woman with long curly hair down without any apparent makeup who could have been UPC / OTP but I couldn't tell for sure.
I know that last year in addition to SoCaliUPC we had several more male UPC musicians registered at the Conference but you can't tell them from the Charismatic and Baptist heathern there!

I knew nothing about the Crabb family until recently and discoverd I think I really like them just as they are breaking up! I would have liked to have gone to that Cleveland TN Crabb concert.
However we did have some Cleveland, TN folks here for the Music Conference as the Voices of Lee from Lee University are always guest singers. Debuting this year as one of the Voices of Lee was Randy Phillips daughter and Kenneth Phillips grandaughter Garland Phillips.
Welcome to AFF by the way. I see this is your first post. Have you been a lurker?
I was there last night--it was an awesome concert!
Glad you enjoyed it. I was proud of our choir. I love several of the songs, like most of them, and don't hate any of them so that is good!
Did you get to go tonight?

If husband and I could have stayed ONE MORE night, maybe we could have found our way to Christ Church. We were in Nashville Monday-Thursday morning. CC1, we plan to visit some Wednesday when we are in Nashville.
