Yesterday was a dark day in Vincennes, Indiana

I needed to go to Evansville

A heavy storm was brewing

The ominous clouds were billowing, colossal and black

Boisterous winds were blowing small branches from trees

The birds silenced their songs

Headlights were on, anticipating the imminent - dreading what might happen

Trash and debris was propelled across the highway by an invisible authority

Lightning flashed -
Not the “behind the clouds” gentle kind
…BOLD streaks of pungent, devastating terror

Huge rain drops began to pummel our vehicle

What to do in a storm.?.?.?

I needed to go to Evansville

In spite of the storm

We continued on the road towards our destination

The storm menacing, threatening, progressively intimidating

With unrelenting determination we persisted –

I kept driving

My wife, trustingly engrossed in a book

I needed to go to Evansville
I had made up my mind
Even in the face of such a storm

I needed to…. it was something I must do

In a little while

Clouds began to dissipate

We continued our course - with our destination a little closer now

The sun was now peeking through the clouds

A little more time went by
A few more miles down the road

The Sun was again brightly shinning
Storm clouds had vanished

I looked in my rear-view mirror
I had to look BEHIND us . . . to see the storm

The clouds were still dark and ominous
The storm was still intensely raging

But it no longer effected my wife and I

We had maintained our course

We had moved. . . beyond the storm !

The storm became only a memory to remind us …
We must keep moving …forward… toward our goal

Don’t ever forfeit your journey…
Don’t ever surrender your goals…
Don’t ever lay down your arms…

....just because of a storm

Storms should become stepping stones we pull from our memories and climb a little higher because of

Storms should become springboards from which we are propelled into another realm of victorious, righteous reality.

Storms are temporary interruptions… of a permanent journey…
....unless you choose to stay... remain... in the storm

-Persevere-
-Carry on-
-Endure-

THROUGH the storms - into the SON-shine of His harvest!
