Just wondering who among us lives in Mississippi. Gonna be there this coming week preaching Tuesday & Wednesday...

I'm thinking a sushi lunch would be great!

All of my family lives there, and I'll probably be there over spring break. Can you put it off a couple weeks?? :)

Sushi knows no boundaries.

There's a good place called Ngoya Japanese Steak House. They have what they call Ngoya Rolls... Oh yea...

Don't know if Bro. Craft likes sushi or not; his assistant loves it as much as I do.

Life is good!

Bro. Craft loves Sushi - ate some with him last week at Ichiban. I'll be around - let's go.

Hansel says Teresa goes several times a week just for Ngoya rolls.

Anybody else think of this when you read the title of this thread?

Well now, we got married in a fever, hotter than a pepper Sprout,
We've been talkin' 'bout Jackson, ever since the fire went.
I'm goin' to Jackson, and that's a fact.
Yeah, we're goin' to Jackson, ain't never comin' back.

June Carter and Johnny Cash. Who can ever forget it? :)

Some really, really good sushi! Ngoya roll is NOT the 'uncooked' fishy stuff. I think it's crab meat with some vegatables, etc.... Some more kind of good!

I've already said that I don't care for sushi and the reasons why .... mainly the fact that I don't care much for seaweed and sticky rice -- the texture turns me off -- or for many of the Japanese sauces .... teriyaki being one of the exceptions of course.

But I'm going to be on the lookout for Ngoya Rolls, try one and report back. :thumbsup

Shameful how carnal some people can be!

By the way, its Johnny Cash on the album "At Folsom Prison" featuring the song "Jackson" and the year 1968.

Felicity, the Ngoya roll is pretty much a local thing at the Ngoya restaurant in Jackson, Mississippi. You should probably try a California Roll (mainly vegatables in sushi) or Crunch Rolls. They are WONDERFUL here in my local Japanese place. Also, I absolutely love the Kaluaha Rolls... avocado, cream cheese, crab meat...

Gotta quit... can't get it this time of night!

I mean don't want to do myself a disservice by missing out on something that is recommended so highly. That would be a shame.

I'll go one up on you... Little known fact: During the 'At Folsom Prison' recording done live at Folsom there was an unknown 22 year old prisoner sitting on the front row who late used Cash's inspiration to become a singer himself and eventually a household name.

Anybody wanna take a guess who it is?

I'm a big fan of the Sonny's BBQ chain. Most of them are in the Florida panhandle. Anyway I think the one in Jackson is located off of HWY 80. Take a couple of friends and get the feast for 4.

Merle Haggard had been in trouble with the law all of his life. However, one night he and two buddies were so drunk they thought it was 3AM and they decided it would be a good time to rob a restaurant. They tried breaking in the back door and found out it was 10:30 PM and the place was still open.

He was caught and because of his extensive record of past incarcerations was sentenced to 15 years.

Interesting... Sushi and great have never found themselves in the same sentence in 43 years of living. (Of course I guess I just ruined that with that last sentence didn't I)

If you folks can't tell yet, me and CountryRev shared some sticky rice in seaweed a few days ago. This man is a top quality individual and we had some GREAT fellowship a couple of times on my trip!
